Elizabeth Hurley Joins The Gossip Girl Cast

Liz Hurley is heading to the Big Apple!
It was a blessing in disguise when NBC cancelled Wonder Woman, because Miss Hurley just landed a much cooler gig -- she's officially joining the cast of Gossip Girl for the upcoming fifth season.
The sexy Brit will play Diana Payne, "a sexy, smart, self-made media mogul and all-around force to be reckoned with" according to TVLine.
Executive producers said in a statement of Hurley joining the cast: "Elizabeth's sense of humor, intelligence and beauty fit the GG world perfectly. We feel very fortunate to have her."
Gossip Girl season five premieres Sept. 26 on the CW.
Hurley was set to play Wonder Woman's rival, Veronica Cale, until a pilot viewing at NBC prompted execs to pull the plug on the series, STAT.
