Liz, one of the icons of her generation, and there were quite a few during Hollywood's hay day. Grable, Stanwick, Monroe, Lolabrigida, Temple -- the list is huge. Eight husbands and 3 children and a brilliant acting career. What made Liz different from the others as an actress was the combination of dazzling beauty and superb acting talent.

While I adore her and always have, Elizabeth doesn't "look good for her age." Not when you think about the fact that Sophia Loren is nearly the same age. Elizabeth looks very good indeed, for the state of her health. She has had uncountable operations, at leat two or three near death experiences, and the brain tumor that was removed left her with a permanent disposition towards seizures.She takes anti- seizure medication daily. I love the fact that she adheres to a sort of "code" of conduct. She always tries really hard to look like the star she is.All dressed up, her hair and make up done, and flashing her bazillion dollar jewels. Even tho she is wheelchair bound, she is still a totally class act. I love her to pieces. And you're right. She fought for AIDS funding and for AIDS research long before it was fashionable. She lost her daughter-in-law to AIDS. Even tho the girl and her son, Michael, were not together at the time, Elizabeth was very good to her. And Elizabeth has four children. Two sons with Michael Wilding, one daughter with Michael Todd, and an adopted daughter she had when married to Eddie Fisher. I love her for being a fighter. For living her life her own way and for living her life to the fullest, mistakes and all. She was never mean-spirited or petty.
