Gwyneth Paltrow Calls Herself "Luckiest Mom" As Goop CEO Quits

Apr 18, 2014 07:00 AM

Gwyneth Paltrow may be a lucky mom, but she's unlucky in business.

The actress described herself as the "luckiest mom ever" in the midst of career trouble as the CEO of her Goop blog, Seb Bishop, quit his job on Thursday. Instead of reacting to the news on social media, Gwyn tweeted a photo of herself and her two children on vacation in the Bahamas captioned "#tbt #luckiestmomever #exumas."

Apple and Moses, whose backs are turned to the camera, give their mom a big hug in the pic. The actress -- dressed in a grey tank and denim cutoffs -- looks calms and joyous.

Seb reportedly abruptly quit his post after Gwyneth used the lifestyle website to reveal her "conscious uncoupling" from husband Chris Martin after 10 years of marriage and two children together.

Gwyneth is moving Goop's headquarters from London to Los Angeles, where she has also relocated with her family.

"Seb was ready to move his wife, Heidi, and their children from London, and had even been looking at properties in Los Angeles, but then he abruptly quit," a source told Page Six. "There is speculation that he and Paltrow disagreed on the direction of Goop, partly that she used the web site as a vehicle for her personal life and the 'conscious uncoupling' announcement."

Gwyneth's publicist Stephen Huvane reportedly confirmed the news, but denied that Seb quit because of a disagreement.

"Seb is still with Goop, but has decided not to relocate his family to Los Angeles," he told the newspaper. "He will be transitioning out over time until a replacement is named."

Gwyneth Paltrow Wears Wedding Ring In Birthday Post To Son Moses

What's that on the Goop queen's finger?

Gwyneth Paltrow shared a sweet black and white Twitter snapshot of herself cuddling son Moses in honor of his birthday today, but what caught our attention was the fact she was wearing her wedding ring for the second day in row!

"Moses Bruce Paltrow turns 8 today. We love you!" she captioned the photo.

Although the Oscar winner and husband Chris Martin announced their "conscious uncoupling" on March 24, she was spotted wearing her bauble while riding passenger around her Brentwood neighborhood just yesterday as well.

Rumor has it the Coldplay front man is eager to make it work, so maybe GP is deliberately sending a message things aren't totally irretrievable between the two?

"Chris still loves Gwyneth and would still like the marriage to survive. He hopes they might be able to rediscover what they had years ago and would love to rebuild their relationship back to what it once was," a source told Sunday Mirror.

Is a conscious re-coupling coming next?

Is Coldplay's New Music Video, "Magic," About Chris Martin's Split With Gwyneth Paltrow?

Apr 8, 2014 12:02 PM

Is art imitating life in Coldplay's new video?!

In the band's new music video, "Magic," recently separated Chris Martin plays a lovestruck magician’s assistant who sings about a "broken" relationship. Could the lanky Brit be talking about his failed relationship with Gwyneth Paltrow? We think so!

In the black and white video, directed by Jonas Akerlund, a magician's assistant (played by Martin) in a traveling circus becomes enamored with his beautiful mentor, played by Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon star Zhang Ziyi, but who is being abused by her husband (also played by Martin). The magician's assistant must use his magical powers to win her over and stop her cruel husband.

The lyrics, “Call it magic/Call it true/Call it magic/When I’m with you/And I just got broken/Broken into two,” reference a man getting out of a failed relationship, leading fans to wonder if the crooner is lamenting publicly over the high-profile breakup.

The song is the first single from Coldplay's upcoming album, Ghost Stories, which is to be released next month.

Gwyneth Paltrow's grandmother has passed away, according to a Florida newspaper.

The Palm Beach Post reported that the mother of late director Bruce Paltrow, Dorothy W. Paltrow, died on March 31. Originally living in Great Neck, New York, Dorothy relocated to Palm Beach, Fla. The matriarch is survived by two children, five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. The family will hold a private memorial, reported the publication.

Unfortunately this bad news comes during a recent hardship for Gwyneth. The Oscar winner announced her separation from Coldplay frontman Chris Martin on March 24 after 10 years of marriage. The duo have two children, Apple, 9, and son Moses, 8.

Report: Gwyneth Paltrow And Chris Martin Were In An "Open" Marriage

Apr 2, 2014 10:10 AM

Open sesame!

Before Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin "consciously uncoupled" -- there were signs of strife. A new report claims that the power couple were in an "open" relationship at times during their 10-year marriage.

"They were physically separated and emotionally," a Paltrow insider told People magazine.

A close friend of the Oscar-winning actress also told the mag: "They have been on and off for many years. The marriage was falling apart."

What caused the rift between the lanky blondes? Personality conflicts and distance are said to be the reason behind the marital troubles. Some reports have cited Gwyneth's strict dietary rules as a constant source of conflict. One friend said that, "[Chris] is the kind of person who is always in a T-shirt." The friend added, "She's much more glam."

You say "glam" -- we say "high maintenance"!

The couple, who have a 9-year-old daughter, Apple, and soon-to-be 8-year-old son, Moses, were married on December 5, 2003, in a ceremony at a hotel in Santa Barbara.

Gwyneth Paltrow's Mom Blythe Danner "Really Upset" Over Chris Martin Split

Mar 29, 2014 09:05 AM

gwyn-mom-split-dating.jpg

It sounds like Gwyneth Paltrow's mom Blythe Danner is more bummed about her daughter's separation from Chris Martin than anyone else -- including Gwyneth!

"[Blythe is] really upset. She loves Chris," an insider tells Us Weekly. "She begged Gwyneth not to end it, that he's a good man. But Gwyneth had to do what she felt was best."

Danner and Paltrow's father Bruce were married for 33 years until his death in 2002, and back in June of 2013, Paltrow chatted with Glamour about how her parents made things work. "I asked my dad once, 'How did you and Mom stay married for 33 years?' And he said, 'Well, we never wanted to get divorced at the same time.' I think that's what happens. When two people throw in the towel at the same time, then you break up, but if one person's saying, 'Come on, we can do this,' you carry on." Talk about foreshadowing....

"[Gwyneth and Chris] really tried to make it work," Us mag's source continued. "You could tell something was wrong, though, over the last few months. You could see a sadness in each of their eyes."

Or could you? There's a new report in the Sun that Gwynnie is on the rebound, which would certainly indicate that there's zero chance of a reconciliation. The tabloid reports that the Oscar winner is "ready to have another boyfriend ... She's very much about having fun."

Guess we'll have to see that to believe it!

Cameron Diaz Defends Gwyneth Paltrow, Chris Martin's "Conscious Uncoupling"

Mar 28, 2014 06:00 AM

As Gwyneth Paltrow comes under fire from the media for the manner she chose to announce her separation from husband Chris Martin, Cameron Diaz is applauding the decision.

Cameron defended her longtime friends' practice of "conscious uncoupling" during an interview with Extra on Thursday.

"I think it's actually a very elevated and conscious [decision] and realized statement -- when people like Chris and Gwyneth who really worked hard to be friends and keep the things that are good and work in their relationship, which is being friends and being parents," she told Extra.

While many people labeled the phrasing as pretentious, obnoxious and calculated, the Charlie's Angels star described it as courageous. "Conscious uncoupling" is a phrase coined by author Katherine Woodward Thomas to describe a five-week program that helps couples break up in a healthy way.

"People go separate ways in other aspects of their life and I think it's really brave of them to phrase it that way," she said. "Leaving as a couple and deciding to stay together as parents and as friends -- I think it's beautiful. I'm so proud of them."

Gwyn and Chris announced they were breaking up on March 25 after 10 years of marriage and two children together. Instead of releasing a joint statement through their publicists, the couple posted a letter on Gwyn's lifestyle website GOOP. The Oscar winner has been criticized for being out of touch with the common man in her promotion of conspicuous consumption through the site.

Here's the beginning of their message:

It is with hearts full of sadness that we have decided to separate. We have been working hard for well over a year, some of it together, some of it separate, to see what might have been possible between us, and we have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much we will remain separate.
