Doctors Investigated In Connection With Heath's Death
Posted on Thu Feb 28, 2008 06:48 AM PDT

Federal drug authorities are investigating doctors in Texas and in California in connection with Heath Ledger's death last month, according to the NY Daily News.
Autopsy results reported an accidental mixture of prescription drugs and now docs in two states are being investigated for possibly having supplied Ledger with Oxycontin and Vidodin. Authorities want to know if the drugs were prescribed illegally, according to the News. A law enforcement source told the paper, "It's not clear if there was any wrongdoing."
Ledger died on January 22; he was found in his SoHo apartment by his housekeeper and a masseuse. Ledger is survived by his daughter Matilda and her mother, Michelle Williams.
Ledger's autopsy results were subpoenaed by the Drug Enforcement Administration shortly after the report was released. On February 6, it was reported that the DEA would investigate the source of Ledger's pills.

Oh,oh, his family must be pointing the finger at the docs.
And you find it hard to believe the LAPD will investigate Sam Lutfi's admission of drugging Brit? At least she was saved before he killed her.
I tell you, I sure wish I was famous because I can't get any good drugs for my damn pain from my doctors. "You can get addicted" is all I freakin get from them.
Sucks!
Mary K Olson, is the one to look at, she is a drugy. Check her out, please

Sounds as if the prescriptions were his, made out to him. If true, I hope the fry the doctors who gave them out. If he got the meds with or without a scrip, I would definitely check out MKO to find out if she was a referral for this. I cannot stand the Olsons and to think they were ever anywhere near my Heath makes me sick. They are like twisted, filthy little monsters. I hate looking at pictures of them! I adored him and I feel terrible that this happened.
okay, slow down people.
I liked Heath Ledger too, but I do not think it will help to blame doctors in two states while he received medication in Europe too. HOW can anyone be blamed for his overdose if no one knew his entire medical picture. It's too easy to blame "someone". It's Heath himself who -sadly enough- took the cocktail of medications, no one else.
I think we all know that Heath did not have any condition that required a drug as powerful as oxycontin. If this was prescribed to him without him being in debilitating pain, then YES the doctors SHOULD be held accountable because they take a damn oath we they get out of school not to do these kinds of things, it should be illegal to prescribe medicine without due cause and the doctors that gave him oxy should be ashamed of themselves because they all know it is HIGHLY ADDICTIVE!
WHAT A TRAGIC LOST!!!! :( IT'S SOOO UNFAIR,
I LOVED HEATH, AND WILL MISS HIM
I am so glad to hear that Heaths death will be investagated. It's about time that someone look into what some of these so called doctors are doing. Even more so for the people who have money and can pay a doctor huge bucks for any kind of medication they want. If this kind of doctor behavior doesn't stop there will only be other accidental over doses.
Sara I agree with you.
