Heather Locklear has been discharged from the hospital where she had been receiving treatment since Thursday after reportedly taking a dangerous amount of prescription medication and alcohol.

A spokesperson for Los Robles Medical Center told reporters the actress was in intensive care and would likely be released tomorrow, but the release came early.

Reports claim Heather's family wants her to submit to a medical rehab, after other rehab attempts in recent years have been unsuccessful.

Locklear was recently engaged to former boyfriend Jack Wagner but the two had called off the wedding and then gotten back together and broken up again. The ups and downs of the relationship are believed to have taken a toll on Heather's mental state, and her family -- including her sister Colleen who was with her Thursday night and ended up calling 911 -- was concerned for Locklear's well-being

Heather Locklear remains hospitalized at Los Robles Hospital in Thousand Oaks in the Intensive Care Unit.

The hospital spokesperson, who said the actress was admitted in "serious condition," said the following:

"She is being clinically evaluated and will continuously be monitored throughout the day."

The spokesperson adds that there will be "no visitors at this time." Also, "the time and date of discharge is unknown at this time."

A source tells ET that Locklear was "out of control" at the time her sister called 911 on Thursday.

The source adds, "Heather became a different person on drugs" and that she's been in and out of rehab over the years. Locklear has also reportedly had a tough time dealing with her split from Jack Wagner.

She is reportedly expected to be released from the hospital sometime today.

The fire department and the Ventura County Sheriff's Department responded, and Locklear was whisked away in an ambulance shortly afterwards, according to TMZ.

“The person who made the call was worried about Heather’s state of mind and they were afraid she was going to harm herself,” a source told Radar. Locklear recently called off her engagement to Jack Wagner, and the source added, “She is distraught over her relationship with Jack, it is on and off and it has upset her lately."

Back in 2008, Locklear's doctor called 911, expressing concern that she may have overdosed on prescription medicine in an alleged "suicide attempt."

Heather Locklear is finally getting her happy ending!

The 49-year-old actress is engaged to her Melrose Place co-star (and love interest on the show!) Jack Wagner. The pair began dating in 2007 after Locklear's split from her ex-hubby, Bon Jovi rocker Richie Sambora.

"Heather and Jack are engaged," the actress' rep confirmed Friday.

The actress sparked rumors of an engagement last week when she was pictured in London at Samuel L. Jackson's charity dinner, sporting an enormous cushion-cut diamond engagement ring on her left ring finger.

This will be the third marriage for Locklear - she was wed to Mőtley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee from 1986 to 1993.
