Come on, its a flipping Halloween costume. I'm so tired of everyone getting their underwear in a twist and getting offended about really minor stuff. If you really think about it, every single person on this planet has the potential to be offended by someone's actions.....and would therefore be off limits for any dress up, spoofing, comedy, etc. There have to be limits and people have to be reasonable as to whether someone's actions are in the spirit of being offensive, or are not meant as any kind of statement whatsoever.

I'm kinda surprised she did this. I guess I'd be offended if she had dressed up as Jesus on the crucifix... Hmmm...

People dress up as Angels,Jesus,Popes,Nuns,Priests,Monks,Satan,devils,demons,Mother Teresa an every other "religious" type costumes on Halloween its all for fun.I cant stand when certain groups of people make a big deal out of nothing.There offended by everything.I really really wish she wouldnt appologise for her costume she did absolutly nothing wrong her costume is no more offensive then a slutty devils costume to the Christians!

it's just that we are having problems with race issues as it is...I just think her choice in costume was tacky. You have all the things in the world to choose from, and you choose a religion that is known for being really reserved...she's either really tacky at heart or just plain dumb.

I'm a Hindu. I understand where those men are coming from. I was a little (ok, who am I kidding? Very!) shocked by her outfit. I mean, who would think of dressing up as Kali?? But at the same time, I give her props for doing something creative.
Personally, I wasn't offended. But it does seem over the top, doesn't it?

I understand being creative is something revered especially on a day like Halloween. Being in the public eye on this day means going as a slutty anything or blowing it out the water in terms of creativity. I'd say Heidi exploded out the water. i am black and christian, i do agree with people saying that she didn't offend anyone. there's a saying in africa where i come from, "when you go to other people's house and they're playing with the left foot do the same" i.e we're in america this is their tradition we should respect it, if you don't like it then go where they do things your way. plus she didn't insult your god, just dressed up as.. people insult Jesus, we don't react as christians. plus how do you prove to another people that your religion ( be it christian,hindu,islam etc..) is the right one?. if we were in india maybe a different story, but we're in america so we play by their rules, nobody forced us to be in this country and we knew before settling here what america is about, so it's holloween stop interrupting the fun!!

It is very interesting to read all these comments, and does, indeed, illustrate to break down of our society here in the US. To see comments like "God does not exist" or "loosen up" are more shocking than seeing someone dress up as a Hindu goddess. As a Christian, it breaks my heart and is VERY offensive to me to see people dress up as Jesus so I can only imagine the shock for a Hindu to see Heidi dressed as one of their goddesses. The only difference is that if a Christian were to speak out, it's "Oh, the religious right needs to stop spreading hate and loosen up." For those who are not familiar with Christianity, it's about loving eachother, everyone, no matter where they come from or where they are in their life. Unfortunately, many judge all Christians by the ones that are off based with the fire and brimstone approach (your going to hell, etc) and who are trying to blow up abortion clinics. Very similar to how many Americans view Muslims bc of the small number of terrorists out there preaching WRONG ideals of what it means to be Muslim. Either way, Halloween is NOT a Christian holiday....the only people who truly celebrate the true meaning of halloween practice witchcraft.
