Henry Cavill covers the new issue of Entertainment Weekly, and the Superman star chats about trying on the famous S suit and nabbing every actor's dream role.
Cavill had to shoot a screen test in the costume, and he was worried he might not fill it out, as he recently dropped a bunch of weight for the thriller The Cold Light Of Day. When an assistant helped him into the suit, Cavill says, “All I could think was: Oh, god. They’re going to look at me and go ‘He’s not Superman. Not a chance.’ The actor inside me was going: You’re not ready! You’re not ready!â€
However, director Zac Snyder knew the Tudors hunk was the man for the job as soon as he saw him walk out of the dressing room. Snyder says, “Other actors put that suit on, and it’s a joke, even if they’re great actors. Henry put it on, and he exuded this kind of crazy-calm confidence that just made me go ‘Wow.’ Okay: This was Superman.’â€
When we found out British hunk Henry Cavill was tapped to play Clark Kent in the latest reboot of the Superman franchise, we knew it was only a matter of time before Lindsay Lohan's name was flung around as a potential Lois Lane. Now, it looks like Lindsay's people are working hard to make sure the 24-year-old starlet snags some sort of a role in the film, and while she wouldn't be playing Ms. Lane, she would be a major character in the motion picture.
Lindsay is reportedly meeting with producers soon, but she's concerned that her latest legal scandal could screw everything up. As you know, Lindsay is facing possible felony charges for the theft of a necklace last month at a jewelry store in Venice, though she insists that she's innocent.
A source tells X17online exclusively that one of the main reasons Lindsay wants to get involved with this project is because she's had a crush on Cavill ever since she started watching the Showtime series The Tudors, and she wants to strike something up with him. Our source adds, "She talks to her friends about hooking up with him all of the time. She doesn't even care if she doesn't get a lead role."
Is this an obsession that has become unhealthy? And should Henry be scared?
British hunk Henry Cavill has been cast in the latest reboot of Superman, Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures announced yesterday.
Director Zack Snyder said, "In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time, and I am honored to be a part of his return to the big screen. I also join Warner Bros., Legendary and the producers in saying how excited we are about the casting of Henry. He is the perfect choice to don the cape and S shield."
Cavill is best known for playing the brother-in-law of Henry VIII in the hit Showtime series The Tudors, so we can't wait to see him squeeze into another pair of tights for his latest role. The movie is expected to hit theaters in December 2012.
