Hilary Duff will be playing California's youngest attorney in a new sitcom for NBC.
The network has ordered a script for Barely Legal, which is described as a legal version of Doogie Howser, M.D.
The show is based on the true story of an 18 year-old who became the youngest person ever to pass the California bar exam.
The former Lizzy Maguire star has a deal to develop TV shows with NBC and Universal Media Studios.
No word on when the series could hit the air.

She's about as believable as a lawyer as she was a singer. A legal secretary hitting on all the lawyers maybe!
