With only the tinniest bit of his famous face exposed, Jack Nicholson made his way though the streets of Aspen, Colorado, looking nearly unrecognizable, on Wednesday afternoon.

The Oscar winner has been staying at one of three luxury properties he owns in the posh ski town, where he's been spending the holidays with friends, family and 21-year-old daughter Lorraine.

Nicholson boasts an impressive real estate portfolio in Aspen alone, owning a five-bedroom, 5,790-square-foot, Victorian-style house, a 3,260-square-foot house which sits atop 3.52 acres, and a 918-square-foot condominium unit (Lorraine's crash pad?) purchased in 2002.

Nicholson's famous neighbors in Aspen include Kevin Costner, Mariah Carey, Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, David and Victoria Beckham. We'd love to live in that neighborhood!

Not sure if it was the chilly weather or the pack of photographers following him, but Jack Nicholson was just NOT having it in Aspen yesterday. Or maybe he's annoyed because he's veering into great-grandpa territory these days when it comes to his appearance?

We already told you that Roman Polanski has been released on $4.5 million bail and is now holed up at a Swiss ski resort, and the other night we happened to stumble across Jack Nicholson, whose home Polanski used for the photoshoot that fateful day when he took advantage of a 13-year-old.

Jack wouldn't comment on anything, and he totally played dumb when asked about his old pal. Really Jack? You have no idea who we're talking about?

When informed of Heath Ledger's untimely passing outside of a restaurant in London last night, Jack Nicholson (who passed The Joker to Heath in The Dark Knight), had just three words: "I warned him."

Jack's reaction implies that he was aware of Heath's troubled state, either due to battling the demons of drug addiction, or the fact that Heath was struggling with playing the role of a psychopathic killer while he was portraying The Joker.
