Casey Comes Through!

When Jamie Lynn Spears welcomed her daughter Maddie Briann into the world this morning, she was surrounded by the people she holds dear - her big sister Britney, her mother and father, her brother Bryan - and, of course, her babydaddy Casey Aldridge!
The couple has been plagued by rumors of a split recently, but our photographers reported that his car's been at the hospital all day. Good for you, Casey - it takes a lot of maturity for a young man to accept fatherhood so willingly!
In fact, we were so happy to hear about Casey doing his duty that we put together a gallery to celebrate the new mother and father - these two just seem made for each other!

What I want to know is why everyone gives young fathers who step up such accolades?? That's what they're supposed to do! Nobody ever says (about the young women) that they should be proud of themselves for stepping up and assuming such a responsibility! It's just assumed that because they're the moms, that's what they should do. And yes, it should be a given, but then so should it be for the fathers as well.
Giving him props for being there for his girlfriend, the guy could be in jail if her parents saw fit to do so. He is an adult and she is a minor child. He should be by her side. When you play the way he did and it results in a pregnancy, this is a lifetime commitment.
I hope they have what it takes to raise this child outside of the limelight.
