It surprises me how self righteous we get and judge a young girl who decides to keep her child rather than aborting it. We all talk about teenage pregnancy but no one talkes about teenage sex. Hey it happens. It's a mature person who deals with their mistakes instead of hiding it.

I think keeping her child will prove to be a much harder choice than an abortion would have been. I agree with both side here, I am caught in the middle of emotion with my own 18yr old daughter being pregnant. It will be hard on her money or not, it is mentally trying, just look at Britney!!

People wait until their 20's to have a child because they know they aren't mentally ready to take care of a child when they are in their teens. It isn't always about financial reasons. It takes more than money to raise a child. She'll probably stick this child with a nanny just like her sister and go on living her life. It's sad that people make such a big deal about this. I just don't get the negativity. As for weight gain (or what everyone is saying 'lack of', in this case)...With my first son, I went from 90lbs to 160lbs by the end. With my second, I went from 95lbs-125lbs. With my daughter (the last one), I went from 90lbs to 110lbs. All children weighed over 9lbs, by the way. ;)
As long as she's eating right and taking care of herself...that's really all that matters.
(PS -I had my first son at 15, second at 19, daughter at 21.)
(PPS - They're now in their teens/20's and doing exceptionally well).
