I was a mom at 17 and it wasn't necessarily the "best feeling in the world". Although I love my daughter dearly and wouldn't change a thing about her, I would certainly wish more for her than I gave myself. I don't mean to sound selfish, but once you become a mother you sacrifice yourself to give your child everything they need.
Love is not enough, but it's got to be the base of it all.
My daughter is perfect, she's smart, talented and very pretty so I did a good job raising her, but dammit it was HARD and I cried a lot and I hurt a lot and I missed out on a lot and I forced myself to grow up too fast and not enjoy what life had to offer but what I now owed to a life.

This is my life exactly. I had my first baby when I was almost 17. No, I wasn't a tramp. I was a scared little girl. My parents moved 3,000 miles away when my baby was a few days old and left me with a 19 year old husband that was just a kid himself. Yes, I missed out on the best part of growning up, but I do not regret my daughter. She more than makes up for anything else I was lacking.

8:17 (1), I remember my senior year, my daughter was in day care for 1/2 day, then I'd leave school and go pick her up only to take her to the sitter so I could go to work. One day I got to the day care EXACTLY 10 minutes late and all the other children were having lunch. I could hear my daughter crying (a momma knows her baby's cry) and I jumped the gate at the front desk, and stormed to the room where I witnessed my daughter going from child to child trying to get a bite of thier food, because I normally got there before lunch time...so she wasn't on the lunch plan. (It was over $75 more a week to put her on that plan and young and broke, I couldn't affor it) My baby (18 mos. old) was hungry and just wanted what all the other kids had, and she was deprived because I wasn't able to afford day care and a sitter so I could finish school and work at night. My heart never broke in so many pieces as when I saw my child pushed away by other kids because she didn't have what they had.
I had it hard! It's not easy being a Mother in the best of circumstances and being a child yourself only adds to the difficult times. I wish JL the best, but if she wants to be a true mother to Maddie, there will be no nannys or caretakers at her beckon call, she needs to go through the hardships to reap the rewards. Otherwise, we will see yet another E!True Hollywood Story showing yet another hollywood baby raised not by loving parents, but childcare givers.

First of all, having a child by C-Section does not make you less of a mother than giving natural birth. You have no idea the circumstances around why someone might have to have a C-Section (Breech, low heart rate for baby, distress for baby or mother, the list goes on). Before you make a comment like that look into the facts. You go through more pain afterwards (2- 3 weeks) then the two days naturally.

Second, the baby is adorable.

I'm in no way condoning teenage pregnancy, but atleast they are taking the steps towards giving these kids a chance. How many times a week do you read about someone leaving a newborn in a garbage somewhere or dumping it behind a building. It's heartbreaking. Don't these people know about "Safe Places".
