BRITNEY SPEARS’ custody battle hit another bump on Tuesday (18Dec07) when the pop star was noticeably unprepared for a visit from her two young kids.

The singer wasn’t even at home when Sean Preston and Jayden James were dropped off by ex-husband Kevin Federline’s bodyguard/driver.

She had been staying at the Peninsula Hotel after a night out with friends and was almost 30 minutes late to greet her kids.

Upon her arrival, a nanny was dispatched to a nearby supermarket to pick up milk and juice for the boys.

A photographer staking out the Spears compound says, "Britney arrived really flustered and obviously had other things on her mind. The nanny went shopping as soon as she arrived." This is an unfortunate thing that could happen to anyone- and does happen to many teenage girls! Being a young parent is extremely hard - but until you have talked to Jamie Lynn personally - I'd suggest most of you stop being so bloody ignorant and realize there is probably much more to the story- that the girl is probably scared half to death - and doesn't need people (who she doesn't even know exist) acting like they know what is right.
