The reason why DDL isn't smiling because he realizes what a scam the Oscars is. He surely loves acting but the transparent facade that Hollywood puts up during the OScars just isn't to his liking and god love him for it. Hollywood needs more DDL's and less of the "look at me I am special because I memorize lines" types.
