Man I was scared for your camera crew when he started walking towards you. And it wouldn't do much to block the license plate because everyone knows Leno drives odd cars. But I guess for other celebs it'd be safer to blurr it out.

Its nice to see a celebrity roll up his sleeves and take care of business himself. Not sure about the "odd car" post above, not to make this about lisence plates but if someone knows a plate number they can run a internet search and get private info like address etc.

Leno is a serious car guy not to mention a pretty regular fellow too. He has garages full of collectables or project cars and a staff but he can get his hands dirty.

California has strict laws regarding license plate information for this specific reason. The DMV will only release information to legal cases and special circumstances.

If you're not a police officer, your best shot is to be an attorney with a case in which you need this information, and even then it's difficult to get anything out of them.

Therefore, it is really pointless to blur anything out.

Jay Leno has two huge hangars at the Burbank airport that are full of his vintage cars and motorcycles. He employs at least three full time mechanics to restore and take care of his vehicles. Jay likes to work on his cars himself whenever he has time off.

I have seen Jay driving many of his cars around the Valley and up on Mulholland. The most unusual one was his 1907 Stanley Steamer.

Jay has lived in the same house off Benedict Canyon for at least 20 years. Any stalker can easily find him with or without a license plate number.
