X17 XCLUSIVE - Jay Breaks Down

Jay Leno, driving a car older than himself, broke down on the side of Coldwater Canyon last week. But instead of calling AAA, this guy rolled up his sleeves and set about fixing the problem himself!

"Horseless Carriage" - wonder just how old that car really is?
I guess this really isn't one of those "stars are just like us" situations - cuz when I break down, I call a tow truck immediately!

He guys! Thanks for the pictures!P.S. you might want to think about blocking out the licence plates, it may not be illegal to publish them, but all it takes is one stalker and we'll have yet another law on the books.
wonder what he told the cameraman when he walked over to him-- that part seems to be missing from the footage.
Man I was scared for your camera crew when he started walking towards you. And it wouldn't do much to block the license plate because everyone knows Leno drives odd cars. But I guess for other celebs it'd be safer to blurr it out.

Its nice to see a celebrity roll up his sleeves and take care of business himself. Not sure about the "odd car" post above, not to make this about lisence plates but if someone knows a plate number they can run a internet search and get private info like address etc.
damn, why didn't we see the possible confrontation.. I've listened to leno for probably 1000s of hours and have never heard him yell at anyone.

Hes so cool. But yeah you know everyone wants to know what he said to you guys. And geez why didnt you help the guy out? You always seem to help Britney.
Leno is a serious car guy not to mention a pretty regular fellow too. He has garages full of collectables or project cars and a staff but he can get his hands dirty.

And I know 1 person may not speak for everyone...but that is silly. Or tell us *why* it's not posted.
California has strict laws regarding license plate information for this specific reason. The DMV will only release information to legal cases and special circumstances.
If you're not a police officer, your best shot is to be an attorney with a case in which you need this information, and even then it's difficult to get anything out of them.
Therefore, it is really pointless to blur anything out.

Jay Leno has two huge hangars at the Burbank airport that are full of his vintage cars and motorcycles. He employs at least three full time mechanics to restore and take care of his vehicles. Jay likes to work on his cars himself whenever he has time off.
I have seen Jay driving many of his cars around the Valley and up on Mulholland. The most unusual one was his 1907 Stanley Steamer.
Jay has lived in the same house off Benedict Canyon for at least 20 years. Any stalker can easily find him with or without a license plate number.
