99 Problems, But A Leak Ain't One
To say that the news that American Gangster, the hotly-anticipated forthcoming release from Jay-Z, had hit the 'net without authorization must have come as a shock to the record-company execs - after all, according to Idolator, in an effort to curtail leaks, they'd only sent out fifteen copies! Imagine their surprise, then, when they traced the leaked mp3s back to the watermarks on the discs they'd mailed out to discover that, according to Idolator, no less than thirteen of the fifteen journalists had uploaded tracks to the web!
As much fun as it might be to get music early these days, it's important to remember - with hip-hop record sales being as low as they are these days (Kanye and 50 aside), real music fans have to work overtime to make sure that their favorite artists get what's comin' to 'em!
