It looks like it's going to be alumni reunion year on American Idol next season.

Jennifer Hudson is currently in talks to join the Idol panel, Deadline is reporting. Her addition to the judging table would mark two firsts for the show. She would be the first alum and the first Oscar winner to judge the reality competition.

Although she placed an astonishing seventh place, the aspiring EGOT, who has won a Grammy, an Oscar, and starred on NBC's Smash, was season three's true winner.

As Vulture reported exclusively on Wednesday, Jennifer may be one of several Idol veterans to return as a judge next season. The original American Idol Kelly Clarkson and runner-ups Adam Lambert and Clay Aiken are also being courted by FOX.

This is the first stage in a massive show overhaul intended to improve its ratings slump. The network's entertainment president Kevin Reilly said last week that Idol will most likely revert to its initial three-judge panel. The show's facelift will also likely include executive producer Nigel Lythgoethe's exit. He first left the talent competition in 2008, but returned two years later when judges Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler replaced Simon Cowell.

Jessica Simpson and fellow Weight Watchers spokesperson Jennifer Hudson are appearing in the company's latest ad.

Simpson, who's now pregnant with her second child, lost more than 50lbs while on the program. However, she will not be following the program throughout her pregnancy.

Hudson, who joined the company as a spokesperson back in 2010, went from a size 16 to a 6 on the program.

Jennifer Hudson appears on the cover of the new issue of Lucky magazine, and the Weight Watchers spokeswoman opens up about winning the battle of the bulge, getting comfortable in her new body, and her love of chocolate!

The American Idol alum lost a whopping 80lbs on the weight loss program, and admits that she's still getting used to being considered a skinny girl. "It's taken me a long time to feel it, get used to it. I'm still figuring it out with my body - rediscovering myself, how I'm perceived," she explains.

The Oscar winner also divulged that she got many of her family and friends hooked on the points system, which makes it convenient to stick to the diet.

"It's great because before we eat - say, before a holiday or a big family reunion - lots of us are saying, how many points is this, how many points is that, so we're together on it," she boasted.

The Chicago native plans on making her eating habits a permanent lifestyle change, but that doesn't mean she doesn't ever get to indulge again!

"You have what you're craving. Chocolate is what I love - I have it every day," she adds.

The Weight Watchers spokewoman Tweeted the above photos of herself wearing black hotpants and a black bra. Turns out JHud posted these pics after her WWE Fiance, David Otunga, posted the following Tweet:

Looks like Ms. Hudson wanted to be entered into the competition. The songstress wrote the following on her Twitter account: "@DavidOtunga I didn't have any baby oil, so I used coco butter! Am I giving u, u? Did I win?"

Yesterday Jennifer Hudson and Katharine McPhee shot scenes for Smash in New York City, and not only were we impressed with how beautiful they are, but kudos to Jennifer for dropping 80 pounds -- and keeping it off!

Of her role on the show, the Oscar winner tells Parade, "I'm excited about it. I'm gearing up for it. It's a guest appearance but we'll see how it goes! I'll be singing and dancing since I play a Broadway star so Broadway stars do it all! If I'm doing it all, everybody better get ready!" NBC chairman Bob Greenblatt added, "Her character will represent someone who reached their Broadway dream but also paid a price for it."

Jennifer Hudson's brother-in-law, William Balfour was sentenced to life in prison by an Illinois judge today.

Back in May Balfour was found guilty on three counts of first-degree murder for shooting and killing Hudson's mother Darnell, her brother Jason and her nephew Julian. Balfour is the estranged husband of the Oscar winner's sister Julia.

"Cook County Circuit Judge Charles Burns has given Balfour three life sentences as well as 120 years for other charges (including home invasion, residential burglary, aggravated kidnapping and possession of a stolen vehicle)," reads the court statement.

During the trial in April, Hudson, testified that she warned Julia about marrying Balfour, telling the courtroom, "I told her over and over again to not marry him. We did not like how he treated her."

Jennifer Hudson stopped by Good Morning America on Wednesday, and the singer wore a navy blue blouse adorned with stars and black skinny jeans, which showed off her ever shrinking waistline. The Weight Watchers spokeswoman is a shadow of her former self! Is she shedding for the wedding?!

Reports surfaced recently that the American Idol alum had called off her nearly four-year engagement to pro wrestler David Otunga after struggling with the stress of her family murder trial, but sources told Radar Online the nuptials are back on after the Oscar winner realized she had made a mistake.

"[Hudson] realized that [Otunga] was her rock and that she wanted to spend her life with him," an insider revealed.

J-Hud is rocking a diamond on her engagement finger, so we guess this officially kicks off our wedding watch!

William Balfour has been found guilty in the Jennifer Hudson family murder trial.

The verdict was reached just moments ago, and the Dream Girls star was in the courtroom for the sentencing.

Balfour murdered Hudson's mother, brother, and nephew in 2008 after he suspected Hudson's sister Julia had been cheating on him.

In addition to first degree murder, Balfour was also charged with home invasion, aggravated kidnapping, residential burglary and possession of a stolen motor vehicle and was sentenced to life in prison. Jurors reached their decision after three days of deliberations.

Balfour originally plead not guilty.
