X17 EXCLUSIVE DETAILS - Jennifer Lopez And Marc Anthony Split

Although Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony announced Friday afternoon that they are splitting after 7 years of marriage, the split had been in the works for months.
A source close to the couple tells X17online exclusively:
- "Jennifer has been very open about how much she is tired of dealing with Marc's bad attitude. She couldn't wait to make this announcement. She has been planning this for months but wanted to make sure her assets were protected before she files."
The pair released the following statement:
- "This was a very difficult decision. We have come to an amicable conclusion on all matters."
Our source adds:
- "Jennifer has been really concerned about how the kids were going to react. They love their dad, but she wanted to make sure they grow up in a positive and healthy family environment. All of us have noticed Jen and Marc's relationship going downhill fast."
J Lo and Marc married in 2004 at their Beverly Hills home. The couple have two kids ... 3-year-old twins Max and Emme.
They had renewed their vows just last year, on their 6th anniversary. The couple put on a solid front to the public, performing together on American Idol in May and announcing plans for a reality singing show competition they would produce together.

Jennifer Lopez was previously married to backup dancer Cris Judd and waiter Ojani Noa. As for Marc Anthony, he was married at one time to 1993 Miss Universe winner Dayanara Torres.
