Jennifer Love Hewitt's mother Patricia has passed away, her rep now confirms.

Sources in Monaco told X17online.com yesterday that Hewitt had flown in to the Nice airport for the 52nd Annual Monte-Carlo TV Festival, but after learning that her mother fell ill, she immediately flew back to LAX.

J. Love has not tweeted since Monday, but her rep did release the following statement:

Patricia Hewitt, beloved mother of actress Jennifer Love Hewitt and Dr. Todd Hewitt passed away yesterday at age 67 from complications due to cancer. Her family mourns her loss. She was an angel to all who knew her and they are grateful she is now in a better place. They ask for privacy at this difficult time. No further details are being provided.

And what about making sure your underwear aren't hanging out of your sweatpants before you step out in public? Just a thought!

In response to the rumors, Hewitt took to Twitter to tell fans: "Read like 10 rumors about myself today! So crazy!... I'm not cursed in love, I had a vacation with friends and I'm single!"

The I Know What You Did Last Summer star added, "I am down. Really hurt by all the people who judge me, write mean things, rumors etc. It's so hurtful. It's hard to keep your head up. This is what I did on vacation. Painted part of there school and met these great kids. No more rumors."

The Client List star seems to be on the fitness tip of late, hitting overdrive at the gym yesterday as well. "Triple workout day! Yikes I'm gonna be achy," Hewitt tweeted to her followers. "Have a great Sunday everyone, see u tonight on The Client List!"

Her fans must be watching since her show got picked up for a second season. Even if her love life has been the main topic with JLH, it's good to see her professional career moving forward!
