You cannot "recover" a child from autism. It is a disorder where the brain is wired differently. I know as much about autism as Jenny, as my son, the same age as hers, is also autistic!!! Her son still goes to a special school for autistics, so it is maintance, no recovery!!!

All I see is a loving mother on a pretend kayak trip with her little boy.... Moms do that.

I see Jenny all over TV on the subject of autism and her son Evan. Not one word about Evan's father, the director Jenny married. Did he dump the kid because of autism? Why does Jenny always mention Carrey and not Evan's father? Who knows the real story?

I appreciate her speaking out on the possible causes of autism. After listening to her I am not even going to get a flu shot any more!

1) Her son (if he even has it at all) is Autistic and THERE IS NO CURE AND ALL THE MONEY IN HER PURSE CAN'T CURE IT.

2) She is a fanatic and an alarmist who only wants to sell a book and make money and take back the TRUE Autism TREATMENT movement back 20 years.

3) With any luck, this PHONY LIAR with her falsehoods will GO AWAY and NEVER COME BACK. She is DESPISED by THOUSANDS with her phony "My son doesn't have autism anymore" crap.

The mercury (thimerisol) was removed from vaccines in 1999. Since then, Autism is on the rise. Jenny McCarthy and all the other murderers who tout not giving vaccines should be jailed for their incompetence. There has never been a study that proves their theory and there never will be. Since there is no mercury in the shots, there should be a very, very sharp decline in the number of cases. There is a sharp increase. These murderers who don't get their children vaccinated, kill their own children and others by exposing them and us to the deadly diseases that vaccinations help protect. Jenny McCarthy and her kind must be stopped at all costs.

I had no idea she was autistic.... and on TV too!!! Wow! Too bad Jim Carey is a complete wack job.

hey you idiot, you can recover from autism!! my son is 4 yrs old has the same dr (Dr Jerry Kartzinel) and he too is recovering. you need to do more reading. try googling autism and recovery and you'll see hundreds of videos/articles on children who have recovered or are in recovery. and no it does not have anything to do w/special schools. BIOMEDICAL is the way.

oh and "anonymous" perhaps you should reresearch b/c mercury is STILL in vaccines. the cdc DID NOT remove the vaccines that were already on the shelves (i.e. several years worth)so autism rates would not automatically decline. also they tweaked and renamed Thimerisol but it is still there. Also, it isn't just the mercury but an overload of many toxins that "those mothers" are against. get your facts straight moron!!

I heard on good authority that it's all related to peanut allergies. There was a kid in my Bobby's school who ate one of those NutterButter cookies and wham! bam! Not only did he swell-up like Rosie O'Donnell after a long night at the CiCi's pizza buffet, but he came down with a major case of autism. I don't know if he ever had any vaccinations as his mother was pretty much one of those smelly vegan, mother earth types, but he did look a whole lot like that Planter's Mr. Peanut guy.
