MTV Cancels Jersey Shore After 6 Seasons
Posted on Thu Aug 30, 2012 10:15 AM PDT
MTV has announced that they are ending Jersey Shore after this season, which premieres on October 4.
The network said it will start farewell programming on Thursday, September 6 with a one-hour retrospective, Gym, Tan, Look Back. The special will include "the most iconic moments in the series' history," and the cast will appear at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards Pre-show to discuss the final season from the red carpet.
The reality series made its debut on MTV in December 2009, and it turned Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino, Jenni "JWoww" Farley, Paul "DJ Pauly D" DelVecchio, Vinny Guadagnino, Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, Deena Nicole Cortese and Angelina Pivarnick into household names within a matter of weeks.
But don't worry -- some your favorite characters will still be causing plenty of drama on camera, with shows like Snooki and JWOWW and The Pauly D Project.
