The proud new dad took the driver's seat, while Jess rode shotgun and her assistant sat in the back with the 2-week-old tot. Simpson recently signed an $800K deal with People mag for the first photos of her daughter, so she has to be extra careful not to reveal her baby's face before the mag comes out!

In addition to her huge photo deal, and the new launch of her own affordable maternity line, the Fashion Star mentor also reportedly has a $4 million contract to drop the baby weight with Weigh Watchers -- she's rumored to have gained over 40 lbs during her pregnancy.

The line will hit 700 stores this fall with prices ranging from $36 to $69, and this is the 24th category of fashion products to bear the Jessica Simpson Collection name. So just how much will this latest business venture net the Fashion Star judge?

WWD estimates that her shoe, apparel, accessories and jewelry empire is expected to earn a whopping $1 billion by the end of the year. She may have only gotten $800,000 from People mag for photos of her newborn daughter Maxwell, but this isn't a bad consolation prize!

The Fashion Star judge took to Twitter yesterday to update her 5 million followers on her motherhood stint so far.

"I am so in love with baby Maxwell," the singer tweeted. "I want to cry every time I look at her. Motherhood is by far the best thing I've ever experienced."

What a sweet sentiment! Maxwell is Simpson's first child with fiance Eric Johnson, so the outpouring of emotion and love is a given. The fashion mogul might not be ready to have another child yet, but with that said, the world is waiting for a glimpse of her new bundle of joy!

The entire Simpson fam, including little sis Ashlee, were at the hospital in LA when Jess gave birth to the little girl, who weighed in at a healthy 9lb 13oz.

The proud new mom also announced the news by posting a big banner on her official website, with the caption, "Creating a family is the best thing I've done in my life, I really hope I can be half as good of a mom as my mom has been to me."

Fiance Eric Johnson was by Jess' side, as Simpson delivered a 9 lb., 13 ounce baby.

Jessica and Eric were engaged in November 2010 but haven't yet set a wedding date.

Ashlee Simpson and their mom Tina arrived bright and early this morning to be by Jessica's side.

The Fashion Star mentor is due to give birth in the coming weeks, and she gave fans a sneak peek at her March 18 baby shower, which was quite the lavish event!

The 31-year-old singer uploaded a video to her official website Thursday, with the caption: "Creating a family is the best thing I've done in my life. I really hope I can be half as good of a mom as my mom has been to me."

Simpson's chic baby shower was organized by celebrity event planner Mindy Weiss, and "it was a kid friendly shower with many of her friends bringing babies," a source told Us Weekly, adding, "Jessica Alba brought her baby Haven, 8 months, and Ashlee Simpson brought Bronx, 3."

The menu included Simpson's favorite fatty Southern foods, including fried Oreos and Twinkies (yikes!), and the event was inspired by the children's story Charlotte's Web.

Jessica's fiance Eric Johnson was also in attendance, and can been seen sitting beside his baby mamma as she open up gifts for their little girl.
