After telling the world that he was the one who broke things off with Jen, saying "something wasn't right", Jen's "pals" have hit out.

Saying Jen's a "lady" who doesn't "kiss and tell", a source decided to tell all to MSNBC's The Scoop.

Here's just a few gems of what Courtney Hazlett claims sources close to Aniston told her:

“He has a relationship with certain paparazzi (and) bloggers. He tips them off. He loves the attention. Jen didn’t want to believe it was happening, but it was, and she has no tolerance for that.”

“Jen was tired of paying for everything. Cobwebs come flying out of (Mayer's) wallet when he opens it. John liked living like a movie star when he was with her. ... Jen would never say anything, but you could tell it irritated her.”

Really? Hasn't he sold like a gajillion records?

But the "he said, she said" isn't likely to stop here:

“We’re talking about a guy who had a car waiting to take him home in New York, but he chose to walk so he could talk to the press (along the way). He’ll drag this out until there’s someone new.”

Hey, as long as he's still talking, I bet we'll all be listening!

John Mayer has finally opened up to the media (in this case, reporters outside his Equinox gym in NYC) about his split with Jennifer Aniston...

"There's no lying, there's no cheating, there's no nothing," Mayer exclaims, adding that the Friends alum is "the smartest, most sophisticated person I think I have ever met."

Talk about singing her praises! So why did the romance end? "I ended a relationship to be alone, because I don't want to waste somebody's time if something's not right."

Hmm, could this be an allusion to Jen's (39) age? Like she needs to get on with having kids - and finding a hubby - and doesn't have any time to waste?

We wonder!

The UK Mirror is reporting that our favorite couple, John Mayer and Jennifer Aniston, have split. I won't use an exclamation point here because it just doesn't seem that surprising now, does it? I guess the only surprising thing is that it lasted as long as it did ...

So was the breakup precipitated by John's philandering down south of the border or just his general ennui with the Friend?

The report says it was John who did the dumping - no surprise, again.

We hope it's true because as dorky as Johnny boy is, he's still too cool for Aniston and we can't wait to see who John convinces to jump in bed with him next!

With his new buzz-cut and his new, cut physique, sensitive rocker Mayer looks like he could kick your ass.

John Mayer debuted a dramatic buzzcut during his show at the Shoreline Amphitheater last night. We think John's close-cropped cut looks great on him (or at least a heck of a lot better than that gold chain!), but we're curious about Jennifer Aniston's response - do you think she misses running her fingers through his long, dark mane?

John Mayer ducked into a Samy's Camera outlet the other day. Unfortunately, the singer wasn't feeling too friendly, hustling into his SUV without acknowledging the paps. What's the matter, John - camera-shy?

A little while later, John met up with Pete Wentz for lunch. These two really are thick as thieves these days, huh?

John Mayer's relationship to Jessica Simpson may be a thing of the distant past - but his relationship with Simpson-in-law Pete Wentz is stronger than ever!

The sensitive singer met up with the Fall Out Boy bassist for lunch at Magnolia yesterday afternoon after a private workout. Neither Pete nor John would confirm whether they're working on any music together - but as long as we keep catching 'em hanging out, we're still holding out hope for a collaboration!

The Daily Mirror reports that, after Jennifer Aniston spotted Kimberly Stewart hanging around backstage at John Mayer's Hard Rock Calling concert last night in London, she flipped out - and had John kick Kim out twice!

An Attempt At Civility
The first booting came courtesy of Mayer, who was trying to defuse the hostile situation by having his security escort Kim from the premises.

Jen, however, couldn't resist adding insult to injury - and made sure to give Kim the stink-eye as John's security hauled her off!

If At First You Don't Succeed...
Kim, however, would not be denied, sneaking back in ten minutes later to snap some pics of John from the side of the stage.

And, just to add insult to injury, Kim did her best to cheekily catch Jen's eye while she snapped away!

"Is This Because Of Her?"
Jen, predictably enough, hit the roof - in fact, the tension between the two women was so pronounced that Mayer had to have his security haul Kim off a second time!

According to the Mirror, Kim didn't go quietly, either - as she was being dragged off, witnesses heard her wailing "Why doesn't he want me here? Is this because of her?"

All Angelina's Fault?
According to a source, Jen's jealousy has its roots in the past - specifically, in Angelina Jolie stealing Brad Pitt away from her back in 2005.

"John and Kim know each other from clubbing in LA, but Jennifer doesn't want anyone around who reminds her that he used to be a player," a source tells the Mirror. "She has fallen head over heels for John, but she's scared it will all go wrong again."

"Another woman stole her man before when Angelina Jolie started dating Brad Pitt - she couldn't bear it to happen again."

Hey, we feel for you, Jen, but this seems like a slightly immature way to handle the situation - hopefully she does a better job the next time one of John's dozens of exes suddenly shows up!

Say what you will about John Mayer, but he's most definitely a man who's willing to accept responsibility for his decisions!

Page Six reports that, just before the news of Johnnifer's romance broke, Mayer gave his ex Minka Kelly a warning call. According to one of Minka's pals, John expressed sincere contrition for his actions, telling the actress "Sorry, but I'm really in love."

Of course, earlier in their relationship, Kelly's pal swears Mayer was singing a different tune. "[D]uring his relationship with [Minka]," Page Six's source says, "John mentioned 'I don't really get this Jennifer Aniston thing.'"

Guess he came around to the idea later!

Perhaps this isn't SO surprising!

E! News confirms that the couple is currently en route back to Los Angeles on another private jet, and should be touching down at Van Nuys Airport later tonight. At least Jen and John packed plenty of fun into their abbreviated vacation - they were seen waterskiing, sunbathing, and dining al fresco!

Sounds like Jen and John had a fun time - wonder how it compared to their romantic trip to Miami?

And they headed to Mexico!

The clandestine couple boarded a private jet last Friday - the Gulfstream IV, for just the two of 'em - and flew down south to Casa Aramara for a little Mexican getaway. Sounds fun! Not to mention romantic.

On the other hand, did they really need a big private jet? I thought John used to care about the environment!

Lately, we've only been catching Jennifer Aniston and her beau John Mayer separately - but last night, they set out for a double date with one of Jen's best Friends!

We caught Jennifer and John sneaking out of STK after meeting Courteney Cox and David Arquette at last night's big OmniPeace event. Jen and John did their best to evade the paps' attention, arriving at the restaurant an hour apart - but any time these two get together, we can't help but take notice!

John Mayer looked pissed when we caught him out at Katsuya on Saturday night alone...without Jen (who was spending time with the girls).

Did they get in a fight or something?

Whaddya think - is this John Mayer's influence? The two are spending a lot of time together recently!
