Someone doesn't seem to be loving the single life!

On Wednesday John Mayer jetted from New York to Los Angeles, and he seemed rather glum when we snapped him walking through the terminal at LAX. John is prepping for his upcoming world tour (his first in three years), and meanwhile ex-girlfriend Katy Perry was happily partying it up at Coachella, so that has to sting a little bit! While the two reportedly split due to hectic schedules, a source tells E! News, "John still very much loves her and has feelings for her. It was just going to be too much with what was on his plate."

Think she'd ever take him back? Or is she on a mission to prove that she's better off without him?

John Mayer appears on The Ellen DeGeneres Show today, and the newly single musician briefly opens up about his split from Katy Perry before moving on to chat about his upcoming tour.

When asked whether he was no longer with Katy, John replied, "Correct," and added, "Listen, it was a very private relationship going in. It was a private relationship during and it’s a private relationship, still. I can understand asking the question based on some previous answers I have given but I have finally learned how to put the wall between one thing and the other. I’ve been much happier since then. I’m on the same journey as everyone else. Coupling is a tricky thing ... I want everyone to be happy."

John also gives his first television performance in three years of his single “Something like Olivia” from his new CD Born and Raised, and he also surprised the audience with a pair of tickets to his concert at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine this summer ... check out the clip below!

John Mayer may have just split from girlfriend Katy Perry (again!), but he's not letting that get him down!

On Thursday night the 35-year-old singer was spotted leaving dinner at Craig's in West Hollywood, and he was in good spirits when we snapped his picture. As far as Katy is concerned, it doesn't appear as though he was on a date, so we're still trying to figure out why the lovebirds broke up. Maybe she's worried that he's going to step out on her when he hits the road for his tour this spring?

And seriously, what an odd outfit:

John Mayer covers the latest issue of Billboard magazine, and the 35-year-old singer reveals that he is going on tour this summer for the first time in three years!

The tour kicks off on July 6 at Milwaukee's SummerFest, and it runs through October. Mayer will visit over 40 cities in four countries, including dates at the Hollywood Bowl and as festivals, including Luna Park in Buenos Aires, Argentina and Rock in Rio in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.

Mayer will perform at the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater on April 25 and the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival on April 26 as a warm up, and these mark his first full-length concerts since a throat granuloma forced him to cancel initial tour plans for his fifth studio album, Born and Raised.

“The greatest gift I have in my life is the opportunity to play again, which is also the opportunity to dream again,” John tells the mag. “My dreams were in escrow, but when I found out this thing in my throat had receded, the most exciting thing for me was having a second chance at a new life. My dreams have come true twice. That’s really cool.”

Maybe this is why he and Katy split, even if it is just a temporary break?

Katy Perry and John Mayer have split for the second time, according to Us Weekly.

Though multiple sources confirm that the two have broken up, one insider tells the mag, "It's not over until it's over. You have to see how things play out." Another added, "She's leaving the window open. They have both been so focused on work."

Katy and John started dating in June of 2012, but they ended their romance in late August, only to reconcile and get back together in September. In November they went on a romantic vacation to her hometown of Santa Barbara, and they seemed fine on Valentine's Day (see pic above).

Things seemed fine earlier this month too, as Katy tweeted on March 2, "My boyfriend is taking me to a kitten shelter in his truck. I can't think of a more perfect Saturday."

However, on March 10, she wrote, "Chiropractor, Therapist, a hike, and a psychic reading. Come on Monday, give me your best shot," and two days ago she added, "ATTENTION: Mercury is OUT of retrograde today. Thank GOD." Wonder why things went wrong ... and so quickly?

For Katy Perry and beau John Mayer, love is definitely in the air!

The sexy twosome hit up Katsuya in Brentwood for a sushi dinner date ... and left hand in hand with big smiles. Looks like the Valentine's Day spirit has come a little early.

John Mayer has never been one to hold his tongue but this time he's taking a more self critical approach.

During an interview with CBS Sunday Morning, Mayer admitted that he didn't necessarily handle himself properly in regards to his high profile relationships in the past.

“I was just a jerk,” the 35-year-old singer told host Anthony Mason. "It’s very liberating when you finally realize it's impossible to make everyone like you. I wanted everybody to like me. I thought I was one shuck and jive away in every direction."

Mayer, who's been linked to Jessica Simpson, Taylor Swift and currently Katy Perry, expressed regrets for his prior actions and admits that it was harder to deal with than the loss of his singing voice. He's since recovered from his persistent throat granuloma in time to promote his latest album Born and Raised this summer.

What's going on here?!

John Mayer and Girls star Allison Williams were spotted dining together at the Jane Hotel in N.Y.C. last Friday, and while at first we thought this might be a sign of trouble in paradise for the "Gravity" singer and girlfriend Katy Perry, it actually turns out to be innocent fun!

Williams is dating the Grammy winner's good friend Ricky Van Veen, who accompanied them to the American Two Shot store opening before dinner at the trendy West Villiage hotspot El Toro Blanco. The "Fireworks" singer didn't join in on the fun, so Mr. Mayer was the willing third wheel of the evening.

"They were with another guy, but they seemed to be in an intense conversation the entire night and were sitting across from each other at the booth-style table. They were sitting down when we got there for our 10pm reservation, and they stayed until around 11:30pm. They stayed pretty late until the restaurant was clearing out," a source told Daily Mail about Mayer and Williams.

Maybe John is really a changed man after all?
