Jon Gosselin Loses Fight To Keep His 8 Off The Air, Apologizes For Putting Them On TV In The First Place

Jon Gosselin is taking his fight to protect his children's privacy public, posting a very long and involved statement on his Twitter after a judge recently denied his plea to take his children off the air.
Even though Jon was once a willing participant in having his eight kids star with him and then-wife Kate on their hit TLC show Jon & Kate Plus 8, now that Kate is embarking on a show of her own, featuring the children, he's had a change of heart.
In a statement, the out-of-work dad says:
- "As you may or may not be aware, I have been working for some time to remove my children from television. I do not believe being on TV is beneficial to any of them. They are no longer toddlers that are oblivious to what is going on around them. They are now six and ten, in school and desperately in need of a normal life.
Each of them has experienced negative effects of having their lives so public. Some are struggling with emotional and/or behavioral issues. My goal for my children is for them to have a normal childhood, and gain back their much deserved privacy. This is not about money, this is about my children. No amount of money is worth the price my children are paying. You cannot put a price on childhood. Money comes and goes, but you only have one childhood.
For those questions about money and support, I can say I am supporting my children to the best of my ability. All parties involved know the truth about this. I am and have been actively seeking employment. I have been barred from accepting entertainment deals that would generate income for my family due to contractual obligations. I am also actively looking for a job outside of the entertainment industry and so far, have not secured a position. In the mean time, I have been focusing on spending time with my children and providing a safe, stable, normal and private environment for them!
On October 13, 2010, I went to court to act in the best interest of my children- to remove them from television. The judge respectfully denied my plea, and granted filming rights to their mother. I honor the judge’s decision, but I do not support it. I will not stop fighting to remove my children from television. It is not a child’s job to support themselves, or a lifestyle, they need to be kids. I would like to apologize to my friends, family, and especially my children for not taking a stand earlier in my life and not questioning my decisions to have our lives documented and displayed. I will have to answer to my children for the rest of my life. I will have to live with this guilt the rest of my life. I am truly sorry!"
Jon sounds incredibly sincere about the fact that he's just trying to protect his children. But we can't help but think that he may have felt differently were he allowed to launch his own show starring his adorable eight children...

God help those poor kids! They shouldn't have to work, their parents are supposed them not the other way around!
He's just pissed because he has been kicked to the curb by everyone for being such a douche. If he can't have the $$$, he doesn't want anyone to have any $$$.
He finally put down the pot and sees things clearly. That's wonderful. I hope the kids can get off the air soon.
I am afraid the kids will not stop working until the ratings goes way down and then TLC will finally let them go when they are no longer useful to TLC. It's very sad.
He has a heart for his kids. Kate doesn't. Kate only sees them as cash cows.
The ratings are bad anyway. It's only a matter of time TLC cancels the show. Also Sarah Palin's new show on TLC will start soon. That generates a lot of buzz. Sarah Palin will be TLC's new muse. Kate's days are numbered.

They won't be on the air for very much longer. People being what they are, bored easily, these kids will be back to "normal" soon. I don't feel at all sorry for them. They have been on more luxury trips than I have, and I am 54. Kate will have University paid for, impossible almost any other way with both parents working 24/7. Those kids will be just fine. I suspect this gets down to dollars in his pocket more than any remorse.
Her kids wouldn't have the life they have it wasn't for the show and she wouldn't be able to spend the time she has with them on a nurses salary..Funny how when they were married it was great for there kids and how did you buy that sports car A**Hole.
and... what is he going to live on...??? What job does he have??
Last news was that he got a percent of the kids earnings.... Who pays his rent.. How did he afford all of those trips and cars and the high dollar apt in NY.. NOPE I do not have a high opinion of this guy. He is on again off again. He looks like the selfish one to me.
I feel sorry for Jon, he regreats it right now becasue he made mistakes for leaving the family for young women and parties. I do not trust him at all . He has nice cars, apartment, travel, parties, where he get the money even he did not pay Kate for childrens support. Tell us. DO NOT BUY ANY JONS COMMENTS
He didn't leave his family for young women and parties. He got dumped by his wife. She told him to move to the room upstairs of the garage and pretend they are still together for the show.
Jon could easily be making well into the 6 figures as an IT guy in NYC.
I think it would be better if he started to work on getting a job. Poor Kate seems to be trying to keep a roof over her children.
We've heard this story before from him. If he were sincere, he would not have taken the deal with TLC to let the kids go back on tv. Money, was more important to him, it seems, than the kids. He has lied so many times, it's best to just not listen anymore. No one knows the true facts, it's none of our business what goes on behind closed doors. I wish the kids a peaceful, happy future.
If you think Jon is being sincere, then you all need to learn about a little something called a "public relations firm". The best thing that will ever happen to Kate is that she loses the show and actually has to work for a living. You have that many kids, you'd better be able to afford them without the TV show. I think they are all sick freaks (not the kids).
Kate is a self centered, rude, mean person. Jon was dumped by her and asked to pretend it was ok for the sake of the show. he has been trying for a LONG time to get the kids off TV. I am sure his intentions were never long term, maybe a few specials here and there. Thos e kids have no privacy. Their peers aqnd school mates know too much about them and their home life. Its not right for them. They cant go out without camera and poporazzi and everyone wanting to take a picture. Its very sad. Good for Jon. He is always so nice. He was trying to move on when he was dating since nasty beast kate left. he should be with them not her!
