Wal-Mart Denies Banning Kanye West Album, Says They're "Excited" To Carry It

Looks like Kanye West may have been the one who stirred up the controversy surrounding his new cover art for his album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. The rapper had tweeted earlier this week that Wal-Mart banned the provocative cover from their stores. However, the retail giant is denying they've even seen the cover.

A rep for Wal-Mart released the following statement:

“We’re excited about Kanye West’s new album and we look forward to carrying it in our stores on November 22nd. As always, it’s our standard practice to carry the edited parental advisory version. We did not reject the cover artwork and it was never presented to us to view.”

Kanye's tweet certainly gained worldwide attention for his upcoming album, which shows a monster-version of Kanye having sex with a naked woman ... with wings and a tail.

The rapper had tweeted, "Yooooo they banned my album cover! They don’t want me chilling on the couch with my phoenix! So Nirvana can have a naked human being on they cover but I can't have a PAINTING of a monster with no arms and a polka dot tail and wings."

Guess Kanye got what Kanye always wants ... more publicity. But it's going to be interesting as to how Wal-Mart will cover the risque image when it's sitting on their shelves.

Do you think Kanye crossed the line?

It's prono and does not belong in a family oriented store.

Actually none of his albums belong in a family oriented store.

Wal-Mart should ban his CD just for the douche that he is. Kayne needs to look up what phoenix is.

He's nothing but a self-serving asshat.

I think it total belongs in Wal mart. All the trailer park hoochies will be lining up for it.

@2:52; I disagree, even trailer trash has higher standards than him.

His music is crap!

Kanye West hates white people!

Kanye, you choose the behavior and you choose the consequences.
So you have really changed as you claim? I am far, far from convinced. You have lost the respect of so many, stop giving everyone a reason to continue labeling you a douchebag. It is time to surrender and clean up your narcissitic act.

Kayne art? ROFL

I like Wal-Mart Stores, they have the right to reject anything they they don't need. I love black music; especially Gospel. Some art is cool, but there's a big difference between real art and garbage. Hooray for real artists!!!!

What went wrong on The X Factor today with Britney Spears?

Britney definitely had another meltdown. This is proof she's not ready to step back into the spotlight!
I think Britney may have overreacted to a bad audition, but it will be entertaining to watch later!
I think Simon Cowell planned this all along. Brit probably even rehearsed it!
