Kara DioGuardi is trying to rent out her massive Studio City, Calif., mansion ... for $45,000 a month!

That's what a lot of people make in a year! Yowza.

The 7,600 square-foot home features five bedrooms, six-and-a-half bathrooms, a 20-foot-high chimney/fireplace combo, a grand piano (for singer/songwriter Kara, of course), a sauna, an art studio (Kara's hubby is an artist), fountains, balconies and an infinity pool.

We're guessing Kara's looking to rent because she's so busy! The singer/songwriter and former American Idol judge is currently making her Broadway debut as Roxie Hart in Chicago through October 30.

Years before Kara DioGuardi joined the panel of American Idol judges, she and Paula Abdul scored quite "high" concerning their own personal history.

In an interview on Wednesday's Lopez Tonight, the Grammy-winning songwriter told late-night host George Lopez, while staying at Paula Abdul's house she ate pot-laced brownies in Abdul's fridge, which landed her in ER.

The ex-Idol judge explained the incident:

"The maid at the time found some brownies in the freezer and put them in the refrigerator ... I hadn't really eaten much that night ... six hours later I was like, 'What's going on?"

DioGuardi goes on, insisting she was unaware the brownies were laced with pot. The former Idol judge claimed she doesn't smoke pot, but consumed at least six of the bite size brownies.

"I fell out of bed, on the floor ... and the ambulance comes, and this guy is like, 'This b*tch is high as a kite! This b*tch is high as a kite!'"

The 40-year-old spent the next three days on bed rest hallucinating, and was even on an IV. Yikes!

But DioGuardi did not have any resentment toward Abdul, because she claims the brownies weren't Abdul's. It was suspected someone had left them at her home after a party.

And we're sure a huge briefcase of cocaine at Charlie Sheen's house was also left by a past party-goer!

Ex-American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi reveals a harrowing past that includes not only sexual abuse she suffered as a child, but a date-rape incident she experienced as an adult in her new memoir, Helluva High Note.

DioGuardi writes of her childhood nightmare at age 11, "On one particular day, he took me into the the back shed of his house and put his hands all over my [body]. I remember freezing and not knowing what to do."

And then in 2000, the songwriter found herself in an unwanted position with a powerful producer who forced himself on her after dinner.

"[W]ithin a few hours, he was on top of me, pumping, sweating, and speaking to me in Spanish, not a word of which I could understand," she remembers.

But now Kara is happily married, and although no longer on Idol, she's about to launch a new series, Platinum Hit, debuting May 30th on Bravo.

Kara DioGuardi has confirmed she is leaving Fox's hit reality show American Idol, and she released the following statement about her departure:

"I felt like I won the lottery when I joined American Idol two years ago, but I feel like now is the best time to leave Idol. I am very proud to have been associated with American Idol –- it has truly been an amazing experience. I am grateful to FOX, FremantleMedia and 19 Entertainment, as well as the cast, crew and contestants, for all they have given to me. I look forward to my next challenge, and want to thank everyone who has supported me. All the best to everyone on Season 10!"

Show creator and executive producer Simon Fuller added, "Kara is one of the world's best songwriters. She has been passionate and committed to Idol over the last two seasons. I will miss having her on the show, but I look forward to working with her in music for many years to come."

With fellow judges Simon Cowell and Ellen DeGeneres gone as well, is there really any reason to watch?

The world apparently knew that Kara DioGuardi will not be on the next season of American Idol ... before she, herself, found out. That's what her dad, Republican senate candidate Joe DioGuardi tells New York TV show, Capital Tonight.

After revealing that his daughter has been given the silent treatment from FOX since she was let go, Papa DioGuardi talks about Kara's anger about the way it all went down ... and explains how she found out about her AI dismissal.

"She read it the way you did and I did. Her disappointment is that that's the way she's being treated and she feels that's not proper. I think they're trying to create a lot of buzz ... they're trying to reformat the thing. But Kara has a very deep career in music ... she'll be fine. Would she want to do it another year? I think so ... I think at some point [she] will confront them on that."

As for who will be filling Kara, Ellen and Simon's judging positions ... looks like Steven Tyler and Shania Twain are pretty good possibilities. Sounds like it's going to come down to the almighty dollar. Cha-ching!

Britney Spears is once again working with Pharrell and Chad Hugo on one song for her upcoming album, called "It's A Secret," and JR Rotem and former American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi on another called "Downtown", new documents reveal!

Brit's previously collaborated with Hugo and Pharrell on the hit "Boys" as well as the Blackout album, which Kara DioGuardi and JR Rotem also contributed to.

Last week producer Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins said we can expect to be hearing something from her new album soon... could it be one of these singles?

Kara DioGuardi gives us an eyeful in her naked spread for the May issue of Allure Magazine.

The American Idol judge gets candid about her previous battle with binge eating and depression in her early 20s:

"Back then I was a size 6 or 8; now I'm more like a size 2. Food is not what I use to anesthetize myself anymore."

So how did she get in shape for this photoshoot? The AI judge says she didn't diet or work out like a maniac. However, she did cut way back on salt, telling the magazine, "I can really retain water."
