Kate Winslet Wins Lawsuit After Being Called "The World's Most Irritating Actress"

Oscar winner Kate Winslet successfully sued The Daily Mail after the tabloid accused her of lying about her exercise routine and labeled her "the world's most irritating actress." The gossip rag has reportedly been forced to pay $40,000 in damages and apologize.
An article titled "Should Kate Winslet Win an Oscar for the World's Most Irritating Actress" seriously "injured her personal and professional reputation," and made Kate feel "distressed and embarrassed."
After the ruling Kate issued the following statement:
- "I am delighted that the Mail have apologized for making false allegations about me. I was particularly upset to be accused of lying about my exercise regime and felt that I had a responsibility to request an apology in order to demonstrate my commitment to the views that I have always expressed about body issues, including diet and exercise. I strongly believe that women should be encouraged to accept themselves as they are, so to suggest that I was lying was an unacceptable accusation of hypocrisy."
Way to stick up for yourself Kate!
But if actors sued every publication that talked smack about them, how many lawsuits would there be each year?

after reading her statement i think she IS the most irritating
I don't understand why tabloids can just write untrue stories about everyone. I guess its stricter in Britain than here in the US. There are certain rules there and magazines can't rely on, "Oh, its freedom of speech". Please, when your flat out lying and making ridiculous stories it called libel.
she is probably third most irritating after Gwenyth Paltrow and Nicole Kidman. the mail wasn't too far off.
HOORAY !!!!!! ......The Daily Mail is full of self righteous, indignant, frustrated, vindictive angst, just looking for a scapegoat to attach to. I AM SO HAPPY their ugly witch hunt/slander was turned over it's head and back onto the publishers.

Kate Winslet is a Gorgeous Woman and a most incredible and inspiring Female & Actress! This comes from an actress... not as famous as she... but did alot of work "Aftra".
She loves her children & family first... is passionate and dedicated to her talents and career... is a most upstanding citizen & strong woman.
