Lady Gaga will sit down with Katie Couric for ABC's holiday special, A Very Gaga Thanksgiving, and not only will the pop superstar perform eight songs (including several Christmas classics), but she will also chat with Couric and a handful of young students at her alma mater, Sacred Heart Catholic School in Manhattan.

"We all know Lady Gaga is a phenomenon. This is a chance to see more of who she is beneath the wild costumes and staged musical numbers," Couric told the press. "She will impress you, delight you and surprise you."

The 90-minute special airs on November 24, and get this -- Gaga is also going to cook deep-fried turkey and waffles as the cameras roll!

Katie Couric will be making a pretty penny at her new daytime talk show gig, so apparently the news anchor thought she should treat herself!

Couric just bought a home in the Hamptons for $6.3 million. The house has seven bedrooms, six bathrooms, a pool, a tennis court and is close to the beach in the exclusive area of New York.

Now that Katie Couric's ABC talk show has been announced, the former CBS Evening News anchor was ready to joke about everything ... including her thoughts on Donald Trump running for President.

Although Katie admits that Trump is a "very, very nice person with a good heart," she did tell Jay:

"But I think he was just acting like a jacka** for a while."

Katie Couric is heading to ABC for her own daily talk show for a reported $20 million a year.

The former Today show anchor announced she was leaving the CBS Evening News back in April.

As for her new gig, ABC News President Ben Sherwood made the following statement:

"A versatile journalist, interviewer and storyteller, Katie will contribute across all of our broadcasts and online, joining our powerhouse line-up of anchors and correspondents as the ultimate utility player."

Apparently Sarah Palin is still bitter about the 2008 interview Katie Couric conducted that made Palin appear uniformed, to say the least.

After Couric announced her plans to step down as the CBS Evening News anchor to focus on "multidimensional storytelling," Palin cracked to Fox News:

"Yeah, and I hear that she wants to now engage in more 'multidimensional storytelling' versus I guess just the 'straight on, read into the, that teleprompter screen storytelling.' More power to her. I wish her well in her 'multidimensional storytelling.'"

Katie Couric has finally announced her official departure from the CBS Evening News.

The former Today anchorwoman tells People:

"I have decided to step down from the CBS Evening News. I'm really proud of the talented team on the CBS Evening News and the award-winning work we've been able to do in the past five years in addition to the reporting I've done for 60 Minutes and CBS Sunday Morning. In making the decision to move on, I know the Evening News will be in great hands, but I am excited about the future."

As for her future plans, Couric adds:

"I am looking at a format that will allow me to engage in more multi-dimensional storytelling ... still being discussed."
