that is exactly how it works..I wish someone would listen to the tapes I recorded over a period of years and then one can hear the horror as an abusive man is showing the control and fear he uses to keep, well me, in a relationship. I hope to one day do a website to show women what it sounds like when an abuser is on the attack..My ex beat the hell out of me when I was pregnant and tried to kill the baby..now he wants more time with our son. These men have a pattern of behavior and my tapes are an audio diary of what they do. The tapes are scarey sad and even funny when in hindsite I see now how pathetic he is. He only beats women when he gets himself a relationship and thankfully that is few and far between. I finally had the nerve to have him charged with assault when he punched me in the forehead while holding a screwdriver. I made the mistake of beleiving him when he said I could come over and get stuff for the baby. Yeah, I went back to him but it wasn't for love after that, it was to try and get some of the money he stole from me back and it was also to document and record the horror.

Why is Rhianna the poster child for domestic violence now? Like all of a sudden there should be awareness just because SHE got beat up? Domestic violence is wrong, but I think that it is sad that some people are taking notice now just because of her almost like it is trendy.

You freaking idiots! They're doing this as an awareness to all the Rihannas around the world! There should've never been a "first time" abuse for her or every woman out there BUT THE FACT that she went back to him just a week after the "incident" is worse! It's good that video like this is finally coming out. It's sending a message out there that domestic violence is NEVER okay! As a former victim of domestic violence, I WILL say NOBODY IS "MAKING FUN" OF ANYBODY with that public announcement!!! EVERYONE NEEDS TO KNOW THIS BEHAVIOR IS PREVALENT ALL OVER THE WORLD AND NOT ONE PERSON IS IMMUNE, "FAMOUS" OR NOT!!!!

This video is to show that it can happen to ANYONE. Including celebs. Huge props for Keir, She did great in this video it even made me cringe.

What a powerful message Keira sends out in this ad. Let's just hope her attempts to reach victims of domestic violence see it, hear it and act on it. Good for you Keira!

Knightley is honestly one of the best and smartest actresses around. I love her for doing this important ad and calling attention to domestic violence which affects MANY women (Note to pointdexter with the first message, this isn't about Rihanna, but women like Rihanna who keep getting beaten up).

That video is seriously powerful. And I think this is a most important message in our times. We have to stop domestic violence.

i loved this ad i think it will really help awareness for women to make them realise that they are not alone and they can be helped. also all those people who are saying it is making fun of women in this situation have a hard think have you ever been in that situation. i would consider myself to be a strong woman but i fell in love with the wrong guy he became violent not to that extent but still abuse is abuse. someone posted 'who grew up with brothers know how to defend themselves' what about those of us who do not have brothers? and remember you love your brother as a brother but you arent in love and sleep with your brother your partner is your life and all that is for you you deserve to be loved and some women go through this because they love them and dont know how to handle the situation. well done Kira and everyone else who is trying to raise awareness in this area BRAVO!!!!!

Wow a very moving ad. I hope it wakes up some women in the situation, unfortunately, because they have low self esteem from verbal abuse that has gone on longer, the likely hood of a lot of victims is that they won't change and move away from the abusive partner.
To the idiot who thinks Rhihanna is not a victim, are you her ex or just someone that abuses other people? You seem like you have the mentallity of an abusive partner. If someone is raped once are they not a victim? If someone is beaten once are they not a victim? Even if they are stupid enough to go back to their partner, they are still a victim!
