Ke$ha is hoping to clear the air regarding the lyrics to her hit song "Die Young."
The 25-year-old singer received criticism following the school shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.
The songstress released the following statement:
“After such a tragic event I was feeling a lot of emotion and sadness when I said I was forced to sing some of the lyrics to Die Young.
Forced is not the right word. I did have some concerns about the phrase “die young” in the chorus when we were writing the lyrics especially because so many of my fans are young and that’s one reason why I wrote so many versions of this song. But the point of the song is the importance of living every day to the fullest and staying young at heart, and these are things I truly believe."
This statement is very different from the singer's Tweet earlier this week. Ke$ha had written, "i understand. I had my very own issue with ‘die young’ for this reason. I did NOT want to sing those lyrics and I was FORCED TO.”
Ke$ha posed for photos on the red carpet at the 2012 American Music Awards at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on Sunday night, and she's not our pick for best dressed, but she does win the most improved award!
The 25-year-old singer will perform her latest single “Die Young”, and after tonight's show, she'll be busy promoting her new album, Warrior, which hits stores on December 4.
Of her new music, K Money recently told Vibe magazine, “The first record was a celebration of partying and being young, but this record’s a better look at my personality. Whatever, I drink like a champion. But I can also do other stuff. I have a sense of humor about my lyrics. I’m not a train wreck, I’m just having fun.”
Ke$ha just debuted her new music video for her latest single "Die Young," and let's just say it's exactly what we expect from the pop singer!
The chart topper parades around in a variety of sexy costumes, dances with scantily clad backup dancers, and fights off the cops. There's also plenty of lights, laser beams, and wolves to keep you visually entertained!
We've never thought of Ke$ha as the type to sex it up, but she looks amazing in this video!
Ke$ha performed at the El Rey Theater in Hollywood last night, and from licking her guitar player to rocking a risque leotard onstage, there was plenty to gawk at! At the end of the show K Money even did a number with two pals dressed in giant penis suits ... not sure if this was part of her regular set list or a Halloween special, but it was hilarious!
Further proof that Ke$ha takes pride in being a Hollywood bad girl!
The "Tik Tok" singer added to her growing tattoo collection on Tuesday, and showed off the fresh ink in a picture on her Instagram account. "New tatt!!!" she captioned the snapshot, which shows the phrase "Suck It!" etched on the inside of her lower lip. Ouch!
The 25-year-old pop star got her tat done at Alchemy Tattoo Parlour on Sunset Boulevard by artist Jules Gonzalez, a close pal of the glitter queen. This is the Nashville native's sixth piece of body art.
As if the gold tooth wasn't enough, the offensive language coming from scrolled on her pout says it all!
We haven't heard too much from Ke$ha lately, but in a Kim Kardashian-esque move, she's capitalizing on the success of her biggest hit, "TiK ToK" -- with a line of watches! (Kim even Tweeted about Ke$ha's venture, saying :Saw a new ad campaign with Ke$ha in it, she looks gorge!!!")
The singer, 24, poses in sexy new pics for the Baby-G watches by Casio. She has designed two -- a $120 model featuring leopard print, and a red, white and blue design. Animal print! America! It doesn't get much better than that. She said:
"It's really meaningful for me because I wrote my first single, 'TiK ToK,' on a Casio keyboard. I've been designing and making my own clothes since I was young ... I design all of my stage costumes. Red white and blue ... represents freedom of speech, a right I passionately exercise in my life and in my music. Leopard print is another big theme in my look, which I like to wear because it brings out my animal inside."
