The Kardashians Not Planning Lawsuit Over Sweatshop Claims

Posted on Thu Dec 22, 2011 09:50 AM PDT

kim-k-clothing-suit.jpgAfter Star Magazine reported that the Kardashian family's clothing lines were being manufactured in Chinese sweatshops (not to mention Global Labour and Human Rights director Charles Kernaghan supporting those claims), the family is firing back, but it looks like they're still not ready to take legal action.

Star’s report quoted the IGLHR as saying the family is “taking advantage of these workers” and “holding hands with a government that spits on democracy and women’s rights.” Though it's been reported that the family is preparing to sue the magazine and organization for libel, a source close to the Kardashians told X17online that there are currently no plans for a lawsuit.

A rep for the family said in a statement, “They take this situation very seriously and have been assured by all of their manufacturers that the factories are policed regularly and there is no truth to these allegations. That said, we are continuing to investigate the matter and if there is any evidence of an illegal operation then they will cease work with that manufacturer immediately.”

Wait, so the Kardashians still don't really know for sure? Maybe that's why they're not suing yet?

In other words, it's true.

Of course the Kardashian's can't say for sure that their products are not manufactured by slave labor sweat shops. No doubt it's true that Kardashian products manufactured in China use slave labor. The Kardashian's really don't care either, as long as they make a big profit. Follow the money...

CNN: Kardashian boycott petition gains signatures:

Remember the petitions that went up in the fall calling for a Kardashian boycott after Kim announced she was getting divorced? Well, one of them looks to be still going strong: The New York Daily News reports that over a quarter of a million people have signed such an online petition.
The petitioners pledge to “boycott the products sold & marketed” by the reality star and to never watch “any television show, movie or sex tape” that features her.
Additionally, boycotters won’t shop in any stores that carry Kardashian-branded merchandise. The site features the logos of brands and stores affiliated with the Kardashian's.

Psoriasis (play /səˈraɪ.əsɨs/) is an autoimmune disease that appears on the skin. It occurs when the immune system mistakes the skin cells as a pathogen, and sends out faulty signals that speed up the growth cycle of skin cells. Psoriasis is not contagious.[1] However, psoriasis has been linked to an increased risk of stroke. [2] There are five types of psoriasis: plaque, guttate, inverse, pustular and erythrodermic. The most common form, plaque psoriasis, is commonly seen as red and white hues of scaly patches appearing on the top first layer of the epidermis (skin). Some patients, though, have no dermatological symptoms.

In plaque psoriasis, skin rapidly accumulates at these sites, which gives it a silvery-white appearance. Plaques frequently occur on the skin of the elbows and knees, but can affect any area, including the scalp, palms of hands and soles of feet, and genitals. In contrast to eczema, psoriasis is more likely to be found on the outer side of the joint.

The disorder is a chronic recurring condition that varies in severity from minor localized patches to complete body coverage. Fingernails and toenails are frequently affected (psoriatic nail dystrophy) and can be seen as an isolated symptom. Psoriasis can also cause inflammation of the joints, which is known as psoriatic arthritis. Between 10-30% of all people with psoriasis also have psoriatic arthritis.[3][4]

The cause of psoriasis is not fully understood, but it is believed to have a genetic component and local psoriatic changes can be triggered by an injury to the skin known as the Koebner phenomenon,[5] see Koebnerisin. Various environmental factors have been suggested as aggravating to psoriasis, including stress, withdrawal of systemic corticosteroid, as well as other environmental factors, but few have shown statistical significance.[6] There are many treatments available, but because of its chronic recurrent nature, psoriasis is a challenge to treat. Withdrawal of corticosteroids (topical steroid cream) can aggravate the condition due to the 'rebound effect' of corticosteroids but this may be followed by cure.[7]

Which means that nothing will be done to improve conditions in those factories and the Ks will continue to benefit from dirt cheap labor and we will continue to buy it putting massive $$ in their pockets. And the beat goes on....

What went wrong on The X Factor today with Britney Spears?

Britney definitely had another meltdown. This is proof she's not ready to step back into the spotlight!
I think Britney may have overreacted to a bad audition, but it will be entertaining to watch later!
I think Simon Cowell planned this all along. Brit probably even rehearsed it!
