Kim Kardashian Sends Fur Flying With Controversial Cat Picture

I don't know about you guys, but I'm pretty sure my kitty would claw my eyes out if I tried a stunt like this with her!
Kim Kardashian posted the following picture on her Twitter account last night and tweeted, "Pic from my shoot yesterday...good kitty cat!", but it seems like she's going to ruffle a few feathers among animal rights advocates, even though picking up a kitten by the neck isn't considered abusive. However, scruffing a cat when it's not necessary (and not giving it a little support on the bottom) doesn't seem like something Kim K. should be doing just for the sake of a funny Twitpic...tsk tsk!
When contacted about the photo, PETA released the following statement to X17online:
- "Kim Kardashian isn't the only person who mistakenly thinks that because a mother cat picks up her kittens by the scruff of the neck that a supportive hand under the rump isn't needed."
Maybe her sister Khloe (remember her PETA ad?) could have clued her in?

This is no way abusive and anyone who claims that it is needs to get a life. That cat is clearly a kitten and kittens are actually comforted by being held like that. When a mother cat needs to carry her babies to saftey by the scruff like tht, the kittens' bodies actually release endorphins making it a nice feeling for the kitten. I would occasionally pick up my cats like that when they were babies and they'd start to purr and get that dreamy, content look on their faces.
That's not how you handle a cat, Kim. You should know better.

My daughter work for the shelter and when she picked one of our cats this way and I was horrified, she explained to me that you pick cats up that way so that they relax and not go out and scratch your eyes if you decide to pick it up. Cat weights 15 pounds, did not fuzz and seemed happy. If this cat was scared or was being hurt the cat would have put up a fight.

To all of the people who are saying that she is bad for handling a cat like this are stupid. That is actually the proper way of handling a cat or kitten. If you take your cat to the vet this is the way that they will pick them up. That cat is in no pain and is not being abused in any way. Stop trying to make something out of nothing. Actually picking a cat up from under there belly or under thier arms is actually harder on them and puts you at a higher risk of being scratched because cats do not like being picked up like that, it makes them scaired. The only reason people are making a big deal about it is because it is Kim and people are clearly jealous of her. Get a life, Get over it and shut up.
