Last time I checked, socialite is someone who is part of upper class or high society. You can make money big money selling drugs like a gangster, but a gangster is not part of upper class, no matter how much money he earned.
First of all, Kim is not wealthy. Her diseased father's money has to be divided by 5 (a wife and 4 kids). It's not that much left. Her stepfather hasn't worked for years and his money has run out. Her mother owns a small clothing store. That's about it.
Her family made money in shaky ways. Her dead father was a big time drug dealer. No wonder she had sex tape, she learned from her father, anything goes as long as she can make profit.
There's nothing upper class about her family.
