Before anyone can crown Lady Gaga the princess of pop, she needs to have a longer career. She has had one hit album! There are many artists who have huge first albums and then they fade away. Shea has not proven longevity yet. Not to mention that she is milking whatever she can from The Fame album and re releasing her debut album. Why not go back to the studio and make a new record?
Britnry has sold 80 million records and is the best selling female artist this decade. Plus she has had many number 1 albums, and countless hits. She also sells out venues that hold up to 20 000 people sometimes more. Gaga does smaller venues of 3000 people. No matter what you think of her, there is no denying she has lasted and earned her way in this business.
Before we name Gaga the new princess, I think we should be looking at Rihanna, or Beyonce, or even Kylie Manogue to take the thrown. All of these artists have sold more and been around longer than Gaga. This title is premature and insulting to all these female artists who are more deserving.
Maybe we should just name Taylor Swift the new Queen of music considring she outsells all of these people.

That's why Britney has the number 1 tour of 2009???? I don't think she is done. Her tour sold out everywhere!!!! She has performed at stadiums of over 60 000 fans. Lady Gaga has never done this even once.
Gaga may have the better voice, but Britney has the better package over all. This is why she is still going strong 10 years into her career. Let's just see what happens to Gaga in the years to come. We see artists who are super talented that are famous for a short period but then get forgotten.
Don't even get me started on Gaga's dancing ability. It is ridiculous. Gaga may be the better singer out of these two but Britney is no doubt the better dancer.
By the way, youtube Britney cover of Alanis Morrisette you oughta know. You will see that Britney can actually sing quite well live. She may not be Beyonce, but she can hold her own.

And Christina was way more talented and sexy than Gaga, so the Gaga argument is just ridiculous. Britney has always dominated the pop world and deservingly so. She actually has an amazing voice, the problem with Britney and the main reason for her lip syncing (other than her dancing) is JIVE. They mandate what she produces are keep requiring her to sing these high pitch, child-like songs, which is not her natural voice at all, which requires her to lip sync. If you listen to her sing her Alanis cover and Everytime (Look up Bossier City if you must - I was there) you can witness that she was a very beautiful, ADULT voice.
