Lance is back!
Armstrong has confirmed that he will be coming out of retirement to go for his 8th win (which would be another record) in the 2009 Tour de France.
In a statement to the Associated Press, Lance said:
- "I am happy to announce that after talking with my children, my family and my closest friends, I have decided to return to professional cycling in order to raise awareness of the global cancer burden."
It's uncertain exactly which team he'll race with, although it's rumored he'll join friend Johan Bruyneel's Astana team.
And although we can't wait to see him race in France, we might be more excited about the prospect of watching him train here at home with famous friends like Matt and Jake!
What's more impressive? 8 gold medals or 8 Tour de France wins?
