CBS Correspondent Lara Logan Was Concerned About Her Safety Just Days Before Brutal Attack In Egypt
Posted on Wed Feb 16, 2011 10:50 AM PDT
CBS Chief Foreign Affairs correspondent Lara Logan was brutally attacked and sexually assaulted in Egypt on Friday, and now it's being reported that the tough-as-nails journalist is recuperating at home with her family in the United States.
Just days before she was beaten by a mob in Tahrir Square, Logan chatted with Charlie Rose about returning to the middle east, noting that it was “in [her] blood to be covering this story.†Prior to that interview, Logan and her news crew were arrested and detained by the Egyptian military, but she returned to the country less than a week later to interview Wael Ghonim, a Google executive who helped organize the uprising that led to president Mubarak's resignation.
CBS released a statement on the incident yesterday, but has declined to comment on Logan's current status and when she might return to work.
Sending our well wishes her way...
