Lauren Conrad Sets The Record Straight

In another drama-filled real-life episode of "what's real, what's fake" on MTV's The Hills, Lauren Conrad dismissed rumors of her BFF Audrina's betrayal (if you've seen the previews, you know Audrina hooks up with Heidi while Lauren's in Paris) on her MySpace.
In a post entitled "Clearing things up...", Lauren says:
Hey! I just wanted to take a moment to clear something up. I recently did an interview to talk about the show coming back on and what everyone had to look forward to. Unfortunately it was turned into yet another "poor me" story. The article itself is a nice one but it follows headlines that, in no way, represent my words or feelings. I do not feel betrayed by Audrina or Brody. I love them both and said nothing to contradict this. I understand that headlines sell magazines, but I value my friendships above magazine sales any day.
It's great that she "values friendships," but, duh, doesn't she value her show's ratings? Seems like MTV has set up this double betrayal for their Hills bonus season, so why would she totally discredit it before it's even hit the air!
Of course, maybe this constant back and forth between the show, the cast and the tabs is all part of the publicity play to keep the stars in the headlines!
