It's hard to imagine anyone replacing William Petersen on CSI - but Laurence Fishburne? We could get used to that!
Reuters reports that the Matrix star is being "heavily courted" by CSI producers to play the show's new lead character, replacing Peterson's Gus Grissom. Other leading candidates include John Malkovich and Kurt Russell.
The role the producers are looking to fill won't be just any old detective, though - apparently, they've written the new character as a doctor/scientist unaffiliated with the CSI unit carrying the same genetic profile as a serial killer (but who's managed to suppress his murderous instincts so far).
Seriously, doesn't that sound like a great role for Laurence to tackle? We're sure he'd be worth breaking the bank to get!
Who would you cast in this role?

GIL Grissom. Facts check people.
And I hope so. Fishburne is a great actor.
that show already exists its called "Dexter:
GIL Grissom, idiots. Frick you people are dumb!
You could get used to him as the lead, which I would presume means you actually watch the show. But if you DID watch CSI, you would know it is GIL Grissom and not GUS! F'n Idiots.
For people who like the show you should at least know the characters names.. it's GIL.
Malkovich does it for me.And please NO Dexter cloning.
