Say what? I'm surprised Gossip Girl herself hasn't found this out yet!
The Star reports that Leighton Meester, who plays the Queen B on TV's sexiest show, was "born while her mother was serving a federal prison sentence in Texas. The mom was allowed to stay in a halfway house for the birth, but had to return to prison on the day Leighton turned three months."
What was her mom's crime? Apparently, she had a role in a "major drug-running ring" - whoa, that's nuts!
And you thought Serena had a troubled past!

Why should that change anyone's opinion on her? It's never the child's fault what the parent's have done.
Shame on X17 for publishing this story. In all aspects of life, even journalism,there needs to be a moral compass. This young woman has made a classy sucess of herself despite her unfortunate start in life and she should be applauded and encouraged, not put up for ridicule and scorn. I would not like to know the person whose conscience told them that they needed to report this item so badly that they didn't care what effect it would have on this young woman's life.
