Flip flops, a Hermes bag and a pretzel! Gossip Girl's Leighton Meester is ready to get to work.

The 25-year-old brunette starlet took a carb-filled break while shooting scenes for her hit CW show in the streets of New York City. Guess even the upper east side loves pretzels!

Wonder if Leighton's GG character Blair Waldorf would ever indulge in this type of snack? We doubt it.

Monday night, Gossip Girl Leighton Meester sang at the Troubadour in West Hollywood and co-star Michelle Trachtenberg stopped by to enjoy the show ... and hopefully not gossip about it.

Leighton is working to cultivate herself as a double threat -- she sang in the flick Country Strong and has collaborated on tracks with other artists.

The two were all smiles -- Leighton was especially bashful in front of the cameras as a mystery man tried to hide her face. Check out the pics in our gallery below and our video after the jump!

Leighton lost out on the Best Villain award for her roll in The Roommate, but she won on the red carpet!

Leighton Meester, whose film The Roomate took the number one spot at the box office in its opening weekend, threw herself into work on the set of her CW show Gossip Girl this week as news that her troubled mother, Constance Meester, was hit with a restraining order for making death threats.

Court documents reveal that Leighton's mom threatened to "hunt down and kill" a former friend and her son on January 21st.

The pal slapped Constance with a temporary restraining order and claimed that Constance "is a drug addict and made a threat to kill us." A judge has ordered Meester to stay 100 feet away from the mother and son.

It's unclear what prompted the outburst, but Constance and the woman in question both have children who attend the same school.

Constance Meester has a history of trouble with the law. In 1985 she was convicted of drug trafficking and spent 10 years behind bars, which is where Leighton was born. Leighton was raised by her grandparents until Constance's release in 1995.

So far, Leighton has had no comment on her mother's latest legal trouble.

Despite the fact that Jake Gyllenhaal took former girlfriend (and Rilo Kiley singer) Jenny Lewis to the Golden Globes last night as his date, the hunky Love and Other Drugs actor is rumored to have been chatting up Camilla Belle, according to online reports.

Clearly he's over poor Taylor Swift!

Meanwhile, Country Strong stars Leighton Meester and Garrett Hedlund were "inseparable the entire night," a party guest tells Us.

The young lovers attended HBO's GG after party at the Beverly Hilton Hotel's Circa 55 and spent the evening with their arms wrapped around each other. Two cute!

Gossip Girl's Leighton Meester is talking about her partying past, and how wonderful it is to have sex, in the January issue of Allure Magazine.

The single 24-year-old actress, who is starring alongside Gwyneth Paltrow and Tim McGraw in Country Strong, has never been a fan of dating. She tells the mag:

"I don't see the point in dating. I hate it. It’s wonderful to be in love. And it’s definitely wonderful to cuddle and have sex and get to experience life with somebody. But it’s OK if you don’t find him and you’re 24. You can find it someday."

On her earlier days as a Hollywood party girl, she adds:

"We had craaaazy parties, we had DJ’s, bands, an ice luge, a fire twirler. One of my roommates burned off her bangs on the stove trying to light a cigarette. We would go out all the time. I've never gotten too crazy, but I definitely got to have experiences. Now, I don't want to do anything that's unhealthy for me."

When it comes to drugs, Leighton doesn't want anything to do with it. Meester explains:

"I mean, drinking is one thing -- overdrinking is another. And drugs are something that I do not tolerate at all. You'd be surprised how many people do it. If you go out and you're living the nightlife scene, that's what people do."

GG's Blair Waldorf ... she is not.

The TV show must be oh so draining. Acting = hard work! Leighton Meester looked exhausted on the Gossip Girl set in New York on Tuesday afternoon. Tired... or bored? After all, Leighton is battling co-star Blake Lively to be the next TV star turned movie star.

Leighton appears alongside Gwyneth Paltrow in the upcoming Country Strong and next year stars in college thriller The Roommate. Meanwhile, Blake currently co-stars in the acclaimed The Town and next summer takes on a leading role in Green Lantern.
