X Factor Marks The Spot!

Well, it certainly didn't take Leona Lewis long to make an impact on the American pop charts - yesterday, she became the first British pop singer to top the Billboard Hot 100 since 1987!
After several weeks' worth of publicity (including a memorable Oprah appearance), "Bleeding Love" came in at #1 this week. Like many recent hot-selling singles, "Bleeding Love" owes a lot of its success to iTunes, where it had been selling like crazy for several weeks.
"Bleeding Love"'s triumph makes Leona the first British woman to top the American charts since 1987, when Kim Wilde went number-one with her cover of "You Keep Me Hangin' On". The twenty-two-year-old Leona was barely even one back then!
Of course, chart success is hardly news to Leona, who spent most of last year setting sales records worldwide with "Bleeding Love". The big question now, of course, is whether she'll be able to sustain her run when her debut album Spirit comes out on April 8th - but after the way "Bleeding Love" sold, we may have an answer already!

Bleeding Love is a good song but Leona is annoying and fake.

Well, I guess I'm but it's only because I think she doesn't deserve it. Honestly, Spirit doesn't have many good songs, probably none, except BL. Her cover of "I Will Be" by Avril Lavigne is awful. She totally ruins the song. And besides, her "I'm normal, down-to-earth and innocent" acting gets on my nerves!

as for her album spirit (12.34) its an exceptionaly brilliant album with lots of great songs, maybe try getting your ears tested!!!! She isnt fake either, just very shy so maybe your not distinguishing the difference!?? you just cant cope with a british singer doing well, shame!!!!!!

The song doesn't suck, but I don't think it's very good. I think they're trying too hard to make her the next Mariah.
I think she just blew all the haters out of the water by getting to no 1 on the billboard chart - well done leona you have done us proud!!
Oh and for everybody saying she is acting "fake" she is just a very shy individual and totally real so all the haterz get off her back - jealousy is poisonous.
I saw her profile with her recent photos on Tallkiss.com , It is a dating site for tall singles. Maybe it isn't herself, someone is using her photo. Who knows?
It makes a nice change to have some1 who has talent & isnt up their own backside and arrogant 4 no reason! If that is 'being fake' i will take that any day!
Why does everyone keep comparing her to Mariah? They are both very good singers so why do you have to pick between the two? She has only been around for 5 mins so lets give her a chance.

There are alot of haters out there...her personality is fine she's down to earth, humble and not fake! She would be fake if she acted differntly but then she wouldn't be herself...thankgod she's not like you some of you jealous bitchy haters..Can't wait for her 2nd album I hope it truly captures her voice to the max and that the world will see her true potential without any comparison she's leona, not whitney maraih or celine...but LEONA..she' unique and not like any artists now days as she has such a kind heart and what artists are like that now days...they're all in bloody rehab!!!
