LiLo Debuts Her Emanuel Ungaro Fashion Line ... And The Reviews Suck!

Posted on Sun Oct 4, 2009 04:00 PM PDT

...you know, because she helped, er, "advise" it?

Lindsay Lohan and Spanish designer Estrella Archs, with whom Lilo collaborated on the new line, were backstage at the Emanuel Ungaro fashion show in Paris - before Linds went out to party with Akon! - and I'm just gonna say it: LiLo is a hot mess and so are her clothes!

Woman's Wear Daily calls it "an embarrassment," saying the clothes looked "cheesy and dated."

The review goes on to say Linds' new line "displayed none of the promised younger-side Lohan was supposed to deliver." WWD's article says "One would never guess that the lineup was designed by one young woman and 'creative directed' by another. Archs has her work cut out for her; backstage she said the collection 'had to be designed very quickly.'"

Okay, maybe just a mess. Girl needs a month-long nap because she is aging way too quickly. Dina might look even younger than her at this point!

Sad.

If someone doesn't do an intervention for this poor, lost soul, she will die within the next few years. Her mother threw her away when Lohan confessed to be Gay, now Lindsay is slowly trying to kill herself.

She is a waste of space nasty ass skank!!!

OMG look at her left arm and all the scares from cutting..More so by the tattoo

I LOVE LINDS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GIRL ;)
X17 MERDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Ungaro should have never been dumb enough to hire Lindsey Lohan. Look at her, she's completely worn out, what good is she really as 'creative advisor'? She has absolutely no schooling in fashion design, what would she know about how to pick the right clothes for a runway and a line? Ungaro has really shot themselves in the foot and the entire fashion world is laughing. She knows how to party and shop and that's it. Her fashion choices are dubious at best. She needs an emergency intervention not to 'work' on a fashion line!

Lindsay. Ugly. Totally Failure. Just Die.

Posted by: Anonymous

Doesn't matter if a few rags call it a failure. The fact is, people are talking about it, and that alone makes the hiring a success. I doubt anybody at x17 is very fashioned minded but yet it is a lead story. Get smart people. Total win.

The New York Times just published a detailed review in the Style section on their website.

It said that the fashion critics held their hand in front of their face to avoid being photographed.... ha ha ha

They also said that after the show ended, the guests ran for the exits.

On a positive note, the article states that the Ungaro store was mobbed after the show.

Most of the clothes they sell are for 60 year olds. Hiring Coke-han may help sell some clothes to a younger audience.

However, based on Lindsay Lohan's box-office appeal these days that will be limited.

Hey 4:34, you die first and spare us the drama.

"OH BOY!"

Ungaro hired her for publicity. Ya think it worked, X17?

Awweee Is 4:44 bald-han herself LOL

Ara owners of Ungaro are only people who expected more

Doesn't matter if a few rags call it a failure? Really, 4:42? A few rags like, Women's Wear Daily (WWD), aka the fashion industry bible, the New York Times, LA Times and on, and on? Fashion is big business. Retail buyers don't order merchandise that won't sell. Please do tell us everything you know, I’m sorry, everything you don’t know about fashion. It’s very funny.

Posted by: Anonymous

Ungaro is getting hundreds (if not thousands) of reviews in papers, mags and the internet tomorrow - worldwide

Posted by: Anonymous

Yes 5:05 BAD REVIEWS! Do us a favor. Make a fist then knock your knuckles on the side of your head. You hear that hollow sound? It's telling you to gather information and process it BEFORE you write.

Posted by: Anonymous

Lindsay took a gig at last minute in Singapore. Before that she was in NY. She spent as much time on this as she did on Machete. She is not an asset to any company and cannot be counted on. She is a pathetic waste.

Ungaro is getting hundreds (if not thousands) of BAD reviews in papers, mags and the internet tomorrow - worldwide

Posted by: Anonymous

Bad reviews, in the fashion world, are a disaster. It's not like the movie industry, retailers base their decision to buy on critics reviews. Even the king of the fashion industry, Lagerfeld, is very conscious of the fashion critics and is friends or friendly with most of them.

So they're talking about the line, so what? This is not the movie industry, where a badly reviewed movie can still do well. Most people don't like Lohan and won't buy clothes with her name attached to it, add further to the fact that the critics think the line is a disaster and guess what? The line is a failure. So yes, bad reviews in the fashion world are very bad!

Posted by: Anonymous

Retail buyers are responsible for selecting fashionable AND profitable collections for their stores. Fashion writers panned the collection. Buyers ignored the show. Most consumers won't have a chance to decide if they want to buy an item from the collection because they will NOT be sold in many retail outlets.

Posted by: eonline.com

Mounir Moufarrige, president of Emanuel Ungaro worldwide, says in a statement. "Lindsay is a world consumer with a clear eye for fashion."

Eonline said, Ahhh, so it was clarity that created those lips.

5:28 I noticed it too. Girl is messed up big time

Posted by: Anonymous

Those lips come from too much poussie eating.

Posted by: Anonymous

In the case of Ungaro, negative publicity is NOT good because they are an old established fashion house.
Wonder how many orders they actually got out of this fiasco?
Theirs is a clear case of miscalculation in hiring Lohan.

Posted by: Anonymous

Her white dress is very pretty. But omg that face, that face. How can a 23 year old manage to look like a worn out, used up 50 year old?

Posted by: Anonymous

.....whether the hype will translate into better sales for the ageing label remains to be seen.

“It’s the clothes that talk. People are interested, and our business is to sell,” Moufarrige told me after the show, surrounded by exhausted fashionistas sipping champagne. “We want to make beautiful products that people will buy.”

Lohan herself may well decide that ultimately, consuming fashion is more fun than producing it. She looked a little dazed and tired after her debut collection, and when a reporter asked her about her love of scandal, she snapped that it was “an unnecessary question”.

Most of the fashion critics have derided Lohan’s stripper-inspired nipple pasties, bra tops and skimpy pink dresses,

"Bad reviews don't matter"

Producers of Lindsay's last four movies would disagree.

her lips are just...gross..wtf is she doing to herself? she will end up looking like Jenna jameson... and what's with her arm? cutting?

Nice play on words, 6:04.

Posted by: Anonymous

People just love to dump on this girl because she's a soft target. They dont dare go after stars some of whom do far worse things than LILOfor fear of getting their asses sued. To my mind, this is one of the more heinous sins that Dina has c'tted against Linds - failing, as manager to protect her from the sleazy rags and gossip sites.

That being said, I believe, that the decision to hire Linds was a good one that would achieve the desired results.
Give it time people see the results! Save your energy for the new line of attack when that happens.
Interesting all the insistence that Linds not designing any clothes; when the homos and their friends give negative reviews, suddenly its all Linds' doing. I would have some respect for the posts here if they weren't obviously generated by spite, envy and mindless need to bitch on Linds

Posted by: Anonymous

Shaking my head. Did anyone EVER associate Lindsay Lohan with upscale clothing, class, or elegance?
She went from child star to tabloid star seemingly overnight, and she is over and Done at twenty-three.

Posted by: Anonymous

LOL her mother or father must be posting here in defense of their useless daughter(s).

Posted by: Anonymous

6:11 Sure, homphobe. Every fashion writer abandoned their assignment to report of Paris Fashion Week. They are all just "dumping" on her because she's a "soft target." It’s not like they are giving their professional opinion about a collection was a colossal failure!

Posted by: Anonymous

It's not very smart for the Lohans to write in a derogatory way about "homos" (homosexuals). Especially since Lindsay is a lesbian herself.Or at least Bi.

Lohan debuts at Ungaro, but Van Noten steals day

By JENNY BARCHFIELD
The Associated Press
Sunday, October 4, 2009; 8:05 PM

PARIS -- Mayhem broke out Sunday at Emanuel Ungaro after starlet Lindsay Lohan made her debut as "artistic adviser" to the storied-but-floundering Paris fashion house with a spring-summer 2010 ready-to-wear collection of teeny mini-bustier dresses and ultra-tight pants that appeared aimed at seducing 20-somethings and the teen set.

Hundreds of journalists flooded backstage, hoping for comment from 23-year-old Lohan and Ungaro's new designer, Spaniard Estrella Archs, who took over after the latest in the label's series of designers resigned just three weeks before Sunday's show.

The result of the last-ditch collaboration between Archs and Lohan was better than expected, though it must be added that expectations were rock bottom.

But Ungaro's sexed-up micro-minis paled in comparison with the subtle mastery on display at Belgian designer Dries Van Noten, whose show - unfortunately for Lohan and Archs - fell just hours later. The king of ethnic prints delivered a tour de force, combining flowing saris, African wax prints and Southeast Asian silks into a coherent, indeed mouthwatering, collection.

Funny ass shit! I love the idiot homophobes like 6:11! Blohan's gay, or at least bi-sexual (she'd bang anyone for pretty much anything though), but shit for brains like 6:11 are just too stupid beyond words to get it!

Negative reviews in the NY Times et al are always a disaster.

If it was the NY Post, no one would care because the Post and its page six are just a crappy rag mag .

The New York Times and LA Times published negative reviews.

Posted by: Anonymous

Bad complexion, sagging boobs, balding, cuts on arms.

Posted by: Anonymous

But who, except Ungaro's new owners, did not see this coming?

Posted by: Anonymous

WWD had a scathing review. The AP and Reuters wire services, the UK Telegraph and Guardian has negative reviews.

The San Francisco Chronicle had a bad review.

Posted by: washingtonpost.com

6:38 A self-deluded Lindsay Lohan!

Asked how their collaboration had worked, Lohan explained, "We both kind of mixed our (ideas) together, and that's why it came out so well."

Posted by: Anonymous

So Blohan is being boycotted instead of Jay Leno????
Well, this is rich, considering Dina said on her twitter she wants to boycot Leno.

Not sorry for her at all. That's what she gets for being an arrogant bitch with her fellow actors and her former assistants.

It's always smart to treat people nice on your way up because those are the same people you'll meet on your way down.

The american reviews mostly s*ck BUT the european reviews are mostly (very) positive !
Especially the french ones i've read were very good.
It's pretty obvious that american reporters were just focussing on their bad girl lindsay lohan (and were sh*tting on her as usual) while european press were reporting the clothes and were merely speaking about the fashion that was shown.
My conclusion after reading so much is that the US fashion press only wanted to talk bad about her before the show even started. I think european press is more important (in the fashion world) so she has not done it bad after all.
(while reading some american reviews i got the feeling i was reading a x17 topic....just trashing LL...)

Thanks 6:53

No one really wants her to die. But everyone wants her to stop being an embarrassment to herself and others. And go to rehab for a long, loooong time. And maybe lose her idiot parents and her wanna-be slut of a sister. That would be a start.

1. Americans are the largest group of consumers for high-end fashion. Fashion writers “shit” on a poor collection. Retail buyers ignored the show. Buyers will not risk ordering items from a critically panned collection.

2. Please post a link to your world map. The last time I checked the United Kingdom was in Europe. The UK fashion critics loathed the collection too.

Posted by: Anonymous

It seems americans never appreciate their own golden girl(s). Lots have to do with stupidity/jealousy. In europe we appreciate her art. She's multi-talented, controversial (what we like) and a real born star.
I like the ungaro clothing she and Estrella had designed.

7:15 That's true.

7:18 Monster Mother Please stop with your ridicules comments you live in Merrick not overseas enough already shouldnt you be getting ready for Jay Leno

see 7:06pm
LMFAO must be her mother denying that Lilo is stoned - when no one even mentioned her being stoned..... ROTFLOL the shoe fits and Lohans wear it.
Ah the entertainment... but not in a good way for them.

Posted by: Anonymous

the media attention was HUGE at the ungaro show (just saw a video on youtube MODTV). So far a BIG success!

In the crowd were important fashion people including the editors in-chief from Harper's bazaar, Instyle and Elle and buyers from Saks fifth avenue, Bloomingdale's and Bergdorf Goodman. NOT BAD.

Posted by: Anonymous

Of course she is multi-talented. Not every woman wants to suck khunt and get reamed with a dildo.

The Ronson family has class. The Lohan family has, hmmm, what the hell do they have?

7:41

The Lohan family have Parole and Probation Officers to report to on a weekly basis.

Posted by: Anonymous

6:57 I finished reading the articles from Agence France-Presse (AFP) It is one of the world's big three news agencies. I also read Le Monde.fr and La-Croix. French fashion writers panned the collection like their UK and American colleagues. The only difference I saw between international newspapers (British, American and French) was a handful of one line quotes. Please provide links to those so-called good reviews (assuming they actually exist).

Posted by: Anonymous

C'mon 6:57! We been sharing articles. It time for YOU to ante up!

Posted by: Anonymous

Editors from 3 fashion magazines and 3 major retailers attended the show AND you’re crowing about it? Oh my god. LOL!

Posted by: Anonymous

When Pamela Anderson debuted her shit movie Barb Wire at some film festival, the media attention was HUGE for her. Result, the movie was one of the biggest bombs ever.

A high level of media attention does not mean that the line will be successful. The reviews have been B-A-D, buyers are not going to buy into a line that has been panned by critics, it's that simple in the fashion world.

So media attention is not nearly as important there as the opinion of the critics.

Besides, Lindsey has had overexposure to media for how many years now? And she's still not had one successful movie in three or four years. So media attention doesn't prove anything.

High-fashion houses rather have good reviews from fashion critics than too much media attention. Word of mouth of positive reviews from fashion critics often get lines sold, because most people cannot afford high fashion anyways, this is for people who have the wallets to afford the stuff and they're NOT going to buy if the line was critically panned.

Posted by: Anonymous

Were ELLE reps there to look for the misplaced Dior jewels?

Posted by: Anonymous

Congratulations, Lindsay, on having courage, class, true beauty, and style. Your Ungaro line is fabulous!!

Posted by: Anonymous

This is how Agence France-Presse (AFP) described Lohan's foray into fashion before the show.

Esteban Cortazar, the designer who left Ungaro earlier this year after creating collections to much acclaim, was said to be less than pleased about a potential pairing with Lohan.

The move comes after a whole series of collaborations between "high fashion" labels and mainstream retailers, such as Rodarte for Target, and other celebrity lines such as Amy Winehouse for PPQ.

Fashion fans have greeted such news with skepticism since it is feared that high-end labels could increasingly give in to the temptation of creating low-market or "celebrity" collections to save their companies but neglect the groundbreaking creation they are known for. – AFP

October 4, 2009 | 10:22 am
It was a deadly collision of celebrity culture and fashion culture on Sunday at the debut of the new Emanuel Ungaro collection with Lindsay Lohan as artistic advisor and Estrella Archs as designer.

When Lohan came out for a runway bow, her eyes were full of tears. And it's easy to see why.

After all the hullabaloo over her appointment a month ago, with some fashion insiders suggesting it was an insult to anyone who had ever really worked in design, it had to have been the walk of shame to end all.

The fashion crowd is a tough one, and the fangs were out for this collection from the beginning. Unfortunately, the clothes--reportedly whipped together in a mere three weeks -- didn't do anything to defy low expectations.

Posted by: Anonymous

Yikes, what is going on with her face! That first pic of her, she looks like she's forty! She looks like a transvestite!

Posted by: Anonymous

7:44 LOL!

Posted by: Anonymous

But by far the worst offense were the glittery heart-shaped pasties worn under suit jackets.

In a word, why?

They were just begging to be laughed at. A larger version of the heart pasties also turned up on some of the models' heads.

Nothing in the collection evidenced any real skill or discernible design work. In fact, you could probably find a lot of it already on the shelves at Kitson.

I did hear someone remark that they liked the shoes, which had narrow, stair-step heels.

Still, there's really no defending this misguided collection, other than as a desperate bid for attention from a house that hasn't mattered since its founder retired in 2004. I just don't think it's the kind of attention they had in mind.

-- Booth Moore

Posted by: Anonymous

Lohan seemed dazed as she walked the length of the runway. She contributes barely more than her name – Lilo – as she's sometimes called.

As the story goes, the designing women produced Sunday's Mediterranean-themed show in just three weeks – though the paparazzi was able to capture photographs of Lohan in the precious days before the debut, leisurely shopping the boutiques of Paris, sporting yellow-blonde straw hair and dark, oversized sunglasses.

Posted by: Anonymous

8:09 I love the LA Times article. It’s beautifully written.

Posted by: Anonymous

How can she be a creative director when her creativity consists of deciding which substance to take and how to circumvent the law?

Posted by: boo

What Lindsay Did to the House of Ungaro

Oh boy. Ungaro.

When Lindsay Lohan took her strut and bow down the runway, the word is, she had tears in her eyes (sorry guys, I wasn’t close enough to see.) I guess it was an emotional process for her first fashion line consultation, and by the looks of it, her consultations were all over the collection.

First of all, there was not a single gown in the collection. Not a one. Which was very un-Ungaro-like.

And there were a lot of skintight mini dresses, also very un-Ungaro-like. You know, come to think of it, the whole thing was very un-Ungaro-like.

Emanuel Ungaro learned how to be a designer directly under Cristobal Balenciaga, and whether you liked Ungaro’s work or not, the man knew what he was doing when it came to clothes. He was one of my lecturers at Saint Martins and he, as a designer, is freaking brilliant and I will always hold him in the highest regard.

And now the house, built on the name of a man who had a knowledge of design and construction that just simply cannot be taught, is (partially) under the direction of Lilo.

Draw your own conclusions.

WHAT THE PROBLEM IS- FIRST AND FOREMOST
THE LACK OF, PLAIN AND SIMPLE, CRAFT.

EMMANUEL UNGARO IS A LIVING TREASURE AND THE MOCKERY THAT HAS BEEN ALLOWED TO HAPPEN IS BEYOND THE PALE.

THE HERITAGE OF UNGARO HAS BEEN SLAMMED AND THERE WAS NOT AN OUNCE OF CRAFT OR VISION DISPLAYED.

I read a fantastic feature on Emanuel Ungaro, the legendary designer. It was normal for him to spend three weeks designing ONE GARMENT. If I locate the bookmark, I will post the link.

The current owner of Ungaro must be out of his mind to think recession battered consumers are going to spend hard earned money on "cheesy and dated" clothes from a ENTIRE COLLECTION cobbled together in three weeks!

Posted by: Anonymous

m, there was bandeau tops and acid washed high waisted cropped jeans with heels. That in itself make the collection a joke. Not to mention the BeBe-esque one shouldered ruched dresses.

If Ungaro thinks that bringing this pop tart on for "consultation" purposes is going to make people want to buy her sh*t, they're dead wrong.

Posted by: Anonymous

A real fashion designer is someone who understands and can execute a garment from pattern to final product. Not someone who "designs" tee shirts or "consults."

This is the biggest disgrace to fashion.

I can only imagine how the hard working and talented students at F.I.T. and Parsons are feeling about seeing their passions being made into a mockery. Call me old fashioned, but this is a joke to the highest degree.

Posted by: Anonymous

Pasties? 3 weeks to design a collection? This can't be for real.Who would buy uch crappy merchandise?

Maybe the designer Estrella was so po'd at getting stuck with Lindsay that she did not even try.
And the "creative director" hasn't had a creative thought in years either.
Freaking funny, for sure.

you may not like her, but she just turned 23 and has achieved another goal in her life (a fashion show in paris, a job/office at a parisian fashion house)
Which other 23 yr old can say that ?

Wow. Lohan should be crying over what she did to Ungaro. Everything looked just so cheap, and there really wasn't anything that I thought "Oh, well that's pretty."

Silver sequined pasties? Tacky. (And they wouldn't even work on her saggy boobs.)

Absolutely tacky.

8:33 Emanuel Ungaro THAT'S who!

At 22, Emanuel Ungaro became Cristobal Balenciaga‘s protégé. The Who’s Who of Fashion states Balenciaga is “possibly the greatest couturier of all time.” Within 19 years, Emanuel Ungaro built his own fashion house. It’s a shame his legendary name is being destroyed by a Lindsay Lohan, a no talent noisemaker!

Posted by: Anonymous

Everyone knew that BloHan would show up drunk, stoned and looking like shit. I don't understand why Ungaro thinks this is a good thing.

Posted by: Anonymous

Oh no, that should say within 10 years NOT 19!

Posted by: Anonymous

This show wasn't a failure. Neither could it be termed a success. One reporter described it as not a home run-- the designer and her consultant reached first base. No one could have pulled this off in three weeks, the time frame Archs and Lohan were given to design and assemble the clothes.

Ungaro needed press. Lohan needed money. So Ungaro paid the money-hungry paparazzi magnet to bring the media "noise" and attention, which she's done.

Now Archs, being a designer, will probably get back to the drawing board. Lohan, being a train-wreck, has already resumed the important business of partying. Maybe she'll sleep with someone interesting and wear a slew of Ungaro clothes while being photographed leaving his / her place. That's what she's being paid for.

If I were in Lohan's position, I would probably forego the festivities, go back to my hotel room and spend hours on the telephone with my significant other. That's what a human being would do if she had a significant other.

Posted by: Anonymous

I’m so ashamed. I didn’t achieve my goal until I was 27. I know, I know, it took me five years longer than Lindsay. But you see, unlike Lindsay, I was actually required to get an education and demonstrate proficiency BEFORE entering my field. Achieving my goal wasn't nearly as satisfying as living my dream.

Too much reality? Okay. Where do I sign the I-Know-Nothing-Please-Hire-Me-As-An-Incompetent-Employee roster? I love reading about science and technology. Someone call NASA and tell them I want to be an astronaut!

Though there are plenty of celebrities visiting Paris this week, including Janet Jackson, Rihanna and Katy Perry, none appeared to be present at Lohan's show.

Ungaro also hired lohan for publicity.
And it surely worked.
It was a madhouse at the show (more than 150 photographers?!) and lots of people know the name Ungaro now. Be honest, there were lots of people (who weren't interested in fashion) who didn't know Ungaro till Lindsay came. And that's the point. Everyone knows lohan and now lots of people know Ungaro. Even younger people and that's what they want. How many people here did know ungaro before lindsay ? and now ?
Her own line sells like crazy and ungaro will gonna sell like crazy too now and that's what they needed.
She's one of the most photographed women around and that means lots of publicity. And lohan loves fashion so great choice.

Ungaro Hired Lindsay Lohan Mostly Because of Tim Gunn and Project Runway

Ungaro CEO Mounir Moufarrige tells Fashion Wire Daily he chose Lindsay in large part because of Tim Gunn's vote of confidence. "His comments that she had a great sense of fashion and knew what works and doesn’t work, were pretty significant to me ... This was authentic, not the paparazzi press all talking about her car accidents, or the drug things," added Moufarrige. "To be complimented by someone like Tim Gunn was very impressive."

Tim Gunn on Lohan: Is Ungaro’s Board of Directors Smoking Crack?

Christian Siriano’s beaming Project Runway mentors Tim Gunn and Nina Garcia stopped smiling when we asked each for their opinion on Emanuel Ungaro’s controversial hiring of Lindsay Lohan as “artistic advisor.” “I have no comment,” Garcia said firmly. But then, without any prompting, she commented anyhow: “But I have to say that Esteban Cortazar is a big loss for them. I love Esteban, he’s extremely talented, and I’m just very surprised about that.”

The affable Mr. Gunn took the same tack when we broached the subject. “Could I not comment?” he asked politely. “Of course,” we replied as Gunn pursed his lips, looked directly at us, and while not uttering a word into our whirring tape recorder, emphatically shook his head in disbelief. But then Tim, too, felt too strongly to hold his tongue. “It’s got to be a publicity stunt!” he blurted. “Or a crack-smoking board of directors?”

Q: The French fashion house of Ungaro, owned by a Bay Area couple, hired Lindsay Lohan as its new creative muse. What did you think of her as a guest judge on the first episode of the new season?

A: She demonstrated a depth of knowledge I didn't know she possessed. Does that mean she should be a creative director of a venerable brand? No. I'm stunned. But I do believe she was an excellent guest judge.

Posted by: Anonymous

So, Moufarrige respects Tim Gunn and said his Project Runway rhetoric persuaded him to hire Lindsay Lohan. Gunn wants NOTHING to do with Moufarrige bad decision.

Posted by: Anonymous

Lohan brought Ungaro BAD publicity!

Posted by: Anonymous

Thanks to Lindsay, Ungaro is the go-to luxury brand for nipple pasties.

Posted by: Anonymous

s she is trash

Posted by: Anonymous

Lindsay sells leggings and tanner that turns skin orange NOT high-end fashion. If Ungaro is lucky they will be able to sell some side licenses for sunglasses and a few small accessories. In a recession, people don’t spend money on poorly designed clothes. People look for timeless investment pieces. And people who can afford high-end fashion don’t go shopping at Saks to come out looking like a bargain basement hooker!

Posted by: its-a-shame-to-see-that

Shit, she looks scary... Please get her some help before she dies seriously, now!!! Il faut faire quelque chose, elle est en train de crever, merde!!!

Posted by: Anonymous

The new ungaro merch will sell about as well as Lohan herself these days.
Which is bad news for the new owners.

the poor girl doesnt even look like herself anymore. her eyes are out. shes like... slowly fading away in public and its like nobody around her cares. they dont help her. nobody does.

7:18 Ask her to stay in Europe with you. The State of California has enough low-hanging fruit.

Posted by: Anonymous

It’s a shame the Ungaro fiasco tarnishes Emanuel Ungaro’s name. I’m going to try to use an abbreviation like UNG (or something) instead of Ungaro.

Posted by: Anonymous

She's 23. She should help herself.

Posted by: Anonymous

BS as usual from x17. Most of the European reviews are good . The designer is a professional and you can see also Lindsay adding something youthfull .I dont believe anyone expected good reviews from the Us press, most of the reviews from Us sites didnt even focused on the clothes.

Ungaro has been dying for 3 years now. Their previous designers were huge fails and the shows didnt get any publicity .

As for Emanuel Ungaro himself , iam sure he smiles cunically. He knows fashion is all about original and edge . Who knows maybe he will like someone as living on the edge as Lindsay to promote his former brand. Cause he doesnt own it anymore. Get real . Fashion designers love fame .
And Lindsay made his name worldwide famous now.

11:51PM,
I checked this. And in French Vogue in general I did not find any mention about Charlotte Ronson or her's collection. It seems that the French does not even know about designer Ronson's existence.
Now it's not surprising that she is so jealous of Ms.Lohan.

Posted by: Anonymous

Trying to harvest something from negative publicity is a sure road to failure. Blohan is the master of self humiliation and garnering well earned negative publicity. You have to be completely desperate to go that route and judging by the almost universal negative criticism of Blohan's exploits, they did themselves no favors for the future. Why people want a drug addict and known thief to represent them is a mystery.

Posted by: Anonymous

to 12.25
Does the truth hurt that much, little Charlotte?

Posted by: Anonymous

Reaching much, 12:39? I personally could give a shit less about this stupid fashion crap, so suck it! Just because YOU like and identify with thieves, doesn't mean others will put up with bullshit like that!

Posted by: Anonymous

What a bunch of freaken haters...the press has only shown us a few of their designs. Which I admit...I personally wouldn't wear some of them...but they were not horrible. The Lohan Groupie site shows a video link to you tube and you see more of the designs and they are beautiful. I think it is sad that people will not allow Lindsay to receive the respect and kudos she deserves...it appears that people want her to stay the Hollywood bad girl when she is doing everything she can to prove she can change. The fashion show was a success and for the tears...I think they were tears of relief, excitement and happiness. Haters back off and learn to focus on the positive. I for one am very proud of her. 23 years old and look at all the wonderful things she has accomplished...

Posted by: Anonymous

12.19am LOL.
You know what the biggest difference between Charlotte Ronson collection and the new Ungaro collection?
Well-known fashion critics can not very much come to love Lohan/Arch duet, but Ronson's collections they generally ignores. At the Charlotte Ronson's Spring 2010 Fashion Show, there was no one of the famous European magazine journalists or fashion critics...

And the little Charlotte...goes boo hoo.

she looks such a mess she needs to go back to rehab and stay there for a long time as for this job she has loads of celebrities have their own clothing line none of them are experienced and it was a smart move hiring lindsay atleast the clothes are been talked about but lins seriously needs to go back to rehab its kinda sad to watch her completely make a mess of her life if shes drinking and partying everyday it proves that shes not actually happy in her life she had a messed up childhood her mum only wants her money but lins needs to get a grip

Posted by: Anonymous

Yeah, whatever. About the only thing I even know is that she is a sister to SaMan, only feminine. Runway stuff is just overpriced garbage worn by attention seeking freaks. But only true garbage embraces thieves, flunkies, and junkies like the Blohan family! I bet you think it's 'kewl' that she steals people's stuff for her next fix, right? Scuz like you and Blohan are why they have to build more jails. RonMan looks like a druggie too, but I doubt she's a thief.

Posted by: Anonymous

Well, it's absolutely off top but maybe someone can explain this to me. Why Samantha not congratulate Lindsay with presentation of Ungaro's collection?

No matter what happened and is going on between them ((ex)girlfriends/friends), it's not that hard to say 'Good luck' or 'Congratulations & well done!' Especially, when Samantha always greet publicly all of her friends or siblings on their premieres, new CDs, etc.

Posted by: Anonymous

Lindsay is very tired and emotional in these photographs. She said herself she finds it difficult to sleep. The American press had an agenda, to break Lindsay!! they continually referred to her past and private life, the european press concentrated on the collection, whilst not great, they could see potential. Who has ever had outstanding reviews on their first collection?? No one!!

As for the pasties, you will be surprised to hear Lindsay did NOT choose them! Chrissie Miller confirmed that. As for Charlotte Ronson, her line is in financial trouble. At her show people were talking about the front row was filled with "student types" to fill the seats.

At Ungaro collection the room was "packed" with all areas from the fashion world. Lindsay was basically hired to bring some new ideas to the label but mainly publicity and she has certainly done that. I've never heard of Ungaro before Lindsay. The amount of photographers and journalists after the show was shocking, even Lindsay was shaken at the sheer number there. Mission accomplished!!

You people who continually refer to Lindsay and drugs, FYI she is tested on a regular basis which is part of her probation terms and is clean.

Lindsay needs a long rest, she has been working hard despite the vicious comments here which indicate otherwise. The rodent Ronson is no good for her, I just hope Lindsay will realise that in time. Let Sam the rodent cuddle up to her vile family and arse licking friends, she will soon see they won't always be around.

I AM VERY HAPPY ABOUT YOU. I AM NOT INTERESTED TO KNOW IF THE CRITICISM IS GOOD OR BAD. FOR ME THE IMPORTANT THING IS THAT YOU MAKE HUGE EFFORTS TO LIVE YOUR DREAM AND YOU ARE DOING A GREAT JOB.YOUNG - BEAUTIFULL - TALENTED.DONT LET THEM DESTROY YOUR SELFCONFIDENCE.

Posted by: Anonymous

They don't test for prescribed drugs, like Adderall. People who think she is clean are delusional idiots! People normally don't get booed off the stage like that either. They could smell the Hohan trash smell from the cheap seats and responded appropriately and loudly!

Posted by: Anonymous

2:43 sad - no word from Samantha about the Ungaro show and no word from "fashionista" Charlotte Ronson either - what did she think of it?

Posted by: Anonymous

Saw the video from youtube and she not only looks HORRIBLE but she is diffantly on drugs and drinking.Holy shit this girl needs help BIG TIME!!!!

Posted by: nr

No pics of Desperate Dina at the show...did even her pea-brain know the show would suck?

Posted by: Anonymous

3:12 i agree with every word!

Posted by: "don't-boo-me"

3:12 Why in such a frenzy to deny LL had a part in the sequin pasties?

In typical fashion, is Lilo going to pick apart the reviews and deny any part of the looks that the critics didn't like??

That is a horrible thing to do to the designer of the collection who worked very hard and suffered the mockery of all of her collegues for being associated with Lilo. BloHo should be grateful that Arches stood by her balding, stinky body and got her on a Paris runway.

This is why LL's name is in the toilet in L.A. and NYC....she has no class and takes no responsibility for her actions.

Now she can add Paris (and Singapore) to her trail of stinky messes left behind.

Posted by: Anonymous

I don't know the first thing about fashion, but I doubt Lindsay had that much to do with the design of these clothes. It appears as though Ungaro was seeking publicity, or a "patsy" if the clothes fail. Either way, Lindsay looks very unhealthy in these pictures.

Posted by: Anonymous

3:12 Is ANOTHER lohan LIE!!!

LiLO gets drug tested?? Huh I beg to differ go look at the picture gallery on page 2 on this site Lindsay partys hard.
She is wasted in these pictures people are holding her while she tries to walk and her sleez bag buddy patrick is holding her up. Pictures DONT lie like you lohans do.

Take your lying stupid ass comments that no one believes and shove them up your ass!!!

Just another day of LAIUGHING really really hard at the lohans!!!!

mikey boy when you live your signature on your comment ya know calling samantha a rodent and the word ville are all you..

Posted by: Anonymous

youtube interview clips are hilarious...

Hohan says"We've been working so hard..we were in the office at one in the morning!!"

LOL!!!!! In L.A. she is just getting stared at 1 am. Plus, she showed up 5 days before the show, AFTER the clothes were designed and spent 4 of the 5 days shopping and partying.

Working hard?? PLEASE.

(tell that to an emergency room surgeon, for instance, who works 18 hours striaght at a time. And does much more valuable work.)

Ms. Lohan’s arrival at a 45-year-old Paris house known for $1,500 dresses and a tradition of couture craftsmanship is entirely different, something akin to a McDonald’s fry cook taking the reins of a three-star Michelin restaurant.

The day before the show, Ms. Lohan was staring at herself in a mirror in Ungaro’s grand offices on the Avenue Montaigne. She picked up a black and white scarf and tied it around her head, then replaced it with a black one, and then clumsily stuck a red sequin-covered heart to the side of her head while a team of designers watched her.

“This is just so cool,” Ms. Lohan said, turning her attention to a white minidress splattered with sequins. “It needs more rhinestones, just so it pops.” Off to the seamstress it went.

Pointing to another white dress, she said: “I call it Michelle Pfeifer in ‘Scarface.’ I was just in my office sketching for next season. I was here until, like, one o’clock last night.”

Editors and buyers scrambled for the exits as soon as the show ended, with little applause as Ms. Lohan and Ms. Archs took a bow together on the runway. One retail chief said he had asked for a ticket only because he thought the show would be a spectacle.

“You know,” Glenda Bailey, the editor of Bazaar said before a question was half asked, “if you don’t mind, I have to run out the door.”

ELLEUK "Lindsay Lohan takes Ungaro to new crotch-skimming heights."

Posted by: Anonymous

My heart goes out to Lindsay Lohan. Right now, she is getting a taste of just how brutal the fashion jungle can be when the claws are unsheathed. . .and it is not a pleasant experience. Judging from some of the comments I heard as I left the Ungaro show this afternoon, she can expect a savaging.

The collection of the Spanish designer, Estrella Archs, was hardly an unqualified success.

How could it be when she and Lohan, chiefly Archs, had only three weeks to pull it together? Ungaro himself, who founded his house in 1965, must be horrified at the arrogance of even thinking it could be done. He would have spent that time on a single piece.

There were some truly hideous fashion faux pas. Silver sequinned "pasties", for example, belong in a lap dancing club unless you subscribe to a Jordan-esque dress code. The dresses were too short. There was not enough jewelery and the cuffed, eastern-style trousers, bra-tops and boleros in jewel-tones hardly paid lip-service to Ungaro's lush exoticism.

IF the collaboration continues, over the next few months Archs and Lohan have a lot of hard work to do.

Lohan was visibly distressed as she took her bow and Archs was also close to tears. But this is now wasted. This is the emotion, passion and intensity they need to direct into the next collection.

"That was the hardest thing I've ever done," Lohan said. As they say in the movies: "She ain't seen nothing yet." That was merely act one, scene one. And fashion, like life, is not a rehearsal. I hope Lohan and Archs are both strong enough to put the bad reviews behind them and put their heads and hearts into thew next performance. I wish them luck.

Posted by: Anonymous

6:16 sorry, but I'm not a Lohan, I'm just an Asian fan who know that acts talk more than words and that no one perfect (me, you or LL).

Posted by: Anonymous

6:35 "There was not enough jewelery" from the above review (by By Hilary Alexander, Fashion Director at Paris Fashion Week.) LOL!!!!!!

Part of the Ungaro contract with Linds was that NO valuable jewelery would be used in any of the shows she was present at.

Yes, her history of "sticky fingers" is international!!

Posted by: Anonymous

Estrella Archs is so warm and sexy she might be a great match to LL a good replace to f**king SR.
Estrella & Lindsay GF's that holds hands at public. :)

Posted by: scc

to all you CONSTANTLY whining BloHo fans (that includes you, Ali and Dina),

The critics and writers reviewing the Ungaro show are the SAME ones who review all the other hundreds of fashion shows each season.

So put youur big-girl pants on and STFU.

Emanuel Ungaro Spring 2010 Ready-to-Wear

PARIS, October 4, 2009
By Nicole Phelps
In a bid for easy headlines, CEO Mounir Moufarrige recently replaced Esteban Cortazar with an unusual team: the little-known Spanish designer Estrella Archs and, as "artistic advisor," the actress turned self-bronzer entrepreneur Lindsay Lohan. Would the move turn out to be a bit of counterintuitive brilliance—the Olsens, after all, have had a bona fide hit with The Row—or would the results be as embarrassing as a streaky orange fake tan?

The show quickly devolved into a bad joke of a fashion show, one with questionable color combinations, "bad eighties" draped silk jackets and drop-crotch pants, old-fashioned and ill-judged fur stoles, and, yes, tasteless sequin pasties.

To top it off, the fabrics and the construction lacked the finesse you expect from a famous Avenue Montaigne brand.

To be fair, Archs had just about a month to design the collection. But both she and Lohan (if she sticks around long enough) will have to work a lot harder next time to impress the editors and buyers who witnessed this disappointing debut.

What a freckled, cut-up, bloated,fish-lipped,wrinkled, bleach-blond MESS.

Oops, I meant this for Linds, not Courtney.

they won't need to do a 'true hollywood story' on "e" for lindsay, we're all watching it live.......

Posted by: ZRGB

You people and everyone who has come down severly on the line all have too much hate in your blood. It looks no different from other lines presented at these high end shows. The presentation of the clothing could have been better but 2 things to take into consideration.
1. They had 3 or 4 weeks
2. it was the first collection
Cut Lindsay some slack. She seems to be trying. Her personal life should not cause people to criticize her so much. Let the girl live. Be happy for people instead of being so eager to see them fail.

Lindsay is a hasbeen who never was. The skank either needs rehab or death. Death would be better.

ok, type in "fashion week paris reviews Lindsay Lohan" There is not one good thing said about her! It was a DISASTER! It is said that they used pasties and only put about 3 weeks into the whole collection and it showed! It showed no class. They also commented on her lips. Too bad those lips can't swallow her and make her go away

Posted by: Anonymous

This skank is funny looking now. Her expressions are so weird and erratic. The real fashion designer looks very good, a beautiful woman, but the red headed, freckled, freak looks like she is so out of it on some substance. For the people who say that this site only posts the bad pics, go to the other sites - all her pictures look horrible. This is bad pr for the company, no doubt they will fire her right away. What a total flop, just like her movies. Her career is over.

Posted by: Anonymous

It looks like she hasn't showered for days on end. I bet she smells gross. She hair falling out. What a disaster.

Posted by: Anonymous

The pictures of the guests in the front row are priceless!

Posted by: Anonymous

I find it so hard to believe she would not choose a better dress and get her hair done for this event.
Is she cutting again????

The only one that thinks this was a success is Lindsay and that is the saddest part of the whole shebang.

Posted by: joho777

Did anyone notice that Lindsay was wearing contact lens in the Fashion Week photos?

Lindsay was definitely stoned in the photos I saw on dlisted.com. Were her contacts to cover her saucer-sized stoned irises?

And that face?? I thought that Lindsay couldn't look any worse, but it seems that there in no bottom to that barrel.

Wrinkles and that bad skin!

Posted by: Anonymous

I'm not a Lohan hater; in fact, I feel great sympathy for her and the direction of her life. Her personal life reflects directly on this collection. I'm sure they (Lohan/Archs) had more than three weeks, but perhaps, that's as much time as they actually "worked" on the line. As a former manager, I believe the initial idea of hiring Lohan was well-thought out. However, as with all whirling dirvishes, one NEVER knows how Lohan will behave or how out-of-control she can be. I would have held the collection instead of showing something inferior. As the designer, I would have put my foot down for Lohan to get to work, or tenured my resignation. It takes more than a "will to shop." It takes an eye for colors, style, trends, and some insight before claiming to design anything. Young girls my be flocking to Ungaro for the moment, but the bigger questions are will Ungaro survive the disaster and will Lohan pull herself together enough to redeem and reawaken her "fashion design" career without further embarrassment.

Posted by: Anonymous

How NAIVE are the Ungaro people? Lohan has been ridden so hard that she more resembles an 80 year-old! Young my azz.

Why are her legs so nasty? Like a heroin addict!

What went wrong on The X Factor today with Britney Spears?

Britney definitely had another meltdown. This is proof she's not ready to step back into the spotlight!
I think Britney may have overreacted to a bad audition, but it will be entertaining to watch later!
I think Simon Cowell planned this all along. Brit probably even rehearsed it!
