Yes smoking is. I had to wear a patch when I was in a facility, no cigarettes what so ever... except in outpatient therapy. But then again, she's off property and may have a slightly leniant driver. It's a damn cigarette, let the girl enjoy some nicotine!

It depends on the facility some allow cigarettes and coffee with caffeine, others don't. That being said; this is another scam with her leaving rehab all of the time since day one, you know it's only to get dope. A real rehab is not going to allow you passes on a daily basis. This is not a real rehab; it's a pricey place for celebs to do a a little PR damage control and get away for awhile.

The biggest concern is that nicotene counteracts antidepressant drugs, rendering then uneffective. That's why they smoke. Antidepressants can have uncomfortable side effects, nicotene eases that. But now that we know it also affects how the anti-depressants work completly...it is bad medicine to allow smoking in rehab.

When I was in rehab EVERYBODY smoked, including the techs and counselors who worked at the facility. They don't make you quit/stop everything at once. They address the main problem whether it be alcohol, meth, cocaine. If she tried to go off everything at once she'd have to be sedated 24/7.

As for the cigarettes, I see pro's and con's. I know it helps to cope, and can be a "step-down" from other more harmful "coping substances", if you know what I mean. But I didn't know it interfered with the effectiveness of the antidepressants. Several people here seem to have had different experiences with rehab. It may be that Lindsay is not being treated for depression, or in any case, not being treated with drugs, and therefore it's not an immediate factor.

I can't believe how TRASHY the MODERATOR of THIS SITE IS -- IF THERE EVEN IS ONE -- to allow comments such as "LindsayLohanFanClubPresident" put on here to stay. THIS SITE NEEDS TO GO DOWN if it can't keep this feces of the screen.
