Fox News is reporting that Lindsay Lohan's days in court in recent years have cost Los Angeles taxpayers millions.
Former federal prosecutor Michael Wildes told the outlet:
- "From logistics to the transcript reporters to the clerks, it is exorbitantly expensive to have a court appearance. ... It costs tens of thousands of dollars per court appearance ... "
Attorney Vikki Ziegler said of Lindsay's trials: “It has likely cost taxpayers millions of dollars. This has been a four-year ordeal that taxpayers in California must foot."
Lohan, 25, was booked into the Century Regional Detention facility in Lynwood at 8:50 p.m. on Sunday, and was home in Venice Beach by 2 a.m. She had been senteced to 30 days in jail, but was released due to overcrowding. She still has community service hours to serve.
