I saw the documentary she made in India and was the first time she caught my attention. I am a a journalism student and I was fascinated, not in a positive way, by the fact that an issue like child traffick could be overshadowed by the fact that she arrived late at the airport in India, or that she was a drug addict among other things that completely took the attention of the subject. The superficiality and hypocrisy of people fascinate me in a weird way. People laugh at her falling down drunk, laugh at her because she's a junkie, laugh because her girlfriend broke up with her and she is filmed weeping at the door. I mean really??. To get viewers / readers you need” interesting” news. Assuming that Lindsay Lohan it is an interesting news, for kind of news anyway,for many people and in a weird way almost a relaxation for people. For many people swear at hear, send her to jail, criticizy every single aspect of her (in a bad way of course) it is as relaxing as yoga. I'm at the end of my thesis and the final chapter is about the power of sites like this and tmz. Initially I was going to use Paris Hilton (because she created herself…the problem is that the self is truly annoing and boring) as a focus but it is too unbearable. Then came all the attention on Lindsay Lohan. Lindsay is very very interesting. Somehow she disassociate herself so much from a person, a real person, that she has become a character. 24hrs, seven days a week on the air. Live. I confess I did not like the in beginning of my object of study but r I kept impartial but now I’m creating ties with the study. I never saw someone so characterize. It’s insane. Everything about her screams grotesquely a real life film script . I think the real person should be interesting human being. The most interesting people I know are beyond the scope of normality. And do not think anyone else lived until today, the perks and pains of fame like her. At least not live in front of people. Lots of conjuctures helped that of course: her fame, the drugs, the DUI, herself, the mother, the father…. A crazy life turned in to a 24hr movie. Lindsay knows she has a problem with alcohol but she is of age to drink. Until she is ready to quit drinking and doing drugs, it will not happen. Nobody can force her to quit, no matter how many times she goes to rehab. We all know Dina encourages her as she likes to party also. The only way for Lindsay to stay sober is to lock her up, but once she gets out of jail, the cycle of drinking and drug abuse will start again.
