Lindsay Lohan Still In Fashion, Working On bebe/Mouawad Collection

Lindsay Lohan is trying her hand at fashion once again.

Though the star earned some bad reviews for her debut collection as artistic advisor for famed house Emanuel Ungaro – including from the now-retired Ungaro himself, who called her showing a “disaster” – she broke the news to Access Hollywood on Thursday that she has a collection for a different label in the works.

“[Jeweler] Pascal [Mouawad] and I are actually working together, we’re doing something with a friend who owns bebe,” she told Access at Pascal’s Nu Pop Movement launch party in West Hollywood. “We’re doing a collection for them and we’re also going to be doing some other things.”

A Pascal rep told Access on Friday that the new line has yet to be finalized.

Not everyone hated the spring 2010 Emanuel Ungaro collection. Bloomingdale's vice-president and fashion director Stephanie Solomon told WWD, “I know it sounds a bit controversial, but we loved Ungaro and its sexy, draped minidresses in vibrant, happy colors. Estrella Archs is a talent to watch." We feel bad for Estrella, who is, let's not forget, doing the actual designing at Ungaro. Her résumé alone, which boasts work experience at Hussein Chalayan, Emilio Pucci, Prada, and Nina Ricci, certainly suggests she has talent. Sadly, her capabilities have been overshadowed by Ungaro artistic adviser Lindsay Lohan and the glitter heart-shaped nipple pasties and glitter heart-shaped forehead stickers that walked down the runway in the house's spring 2010 show, prompting critics to label it a disaster. However, she presented her spring 2010 collection for her namesake line in Paris yesterday. And she did a good job! The clothes are simple, but she certainly has a point of view. And if the critics are looking for someone to blame for the nipple-pastie flub at Ungaro, they might note Archs's namesake line included no pasties (just good old-fashioned nipples showing through sheer fabric). Neiman Marcus and Net-A-Porter Dropped Emanuel Ungaro for Spring

This week, Emanuel Ungaro suggested Lindsay Lohan is sucking the soul out of the label he founded. Retailers seem to agree. After terrible reviews for the show marking Lohan's debut as artistic adviser, Neiman Marcus and Net-A-Porter have dropped Ungaro for spring 2010. They were the only two major retailers selling the label outside of freestanding Ungaro stores. Barneys and Saks haven't carried the line for several seasons, and also decided not to pick it up for spring. Like much of the fashion press, Emanuel Ungaro himself has labeled Lindsay Lohan's debut at the house he founded a "disaster." He told reporters this week at a film festival in Lisbon, "I am furious but I can't do anything about it." Ungaro has had no contact with the house since he left in 2005, and the label is now owned by an American investment company. The AFP reports:

Ungaro said he regretted that the fashion house he started "is in the process of losing its soul."

"That happens to a lot of designers. We were the creators and patrons, responsible for the creation and destiny of our houses. But when we gave up our houses, we gave up our souls."

So, Lindsay is like a fashion succubus.
