Hi Lindsay -- I REALLY DO HOPE that somehow you get to read what is posted here ...

What you need to know is what many of us, who love you and are praying for you, already know, and that is this:

GOD NEVER INTENDED FOR YOU LIVE YOUR LIFE ALONE -- without Him, and without His Love for you! NEVER!

Even without parents, family or friends, He never intends for you to be alone without Him! He has made EACH of us -- including YOU, Lindsay -- for Himself -- to share His Love and Care with us our whole lives, and for eternity after this life is over.

But there is a 'catch' -- and that is this: there can be no such thing as love without a choice.

Without choice, we would all just be "love robot zombies", so God HAS to give us a choice -- to love Him -- or to walk away from Him.

We always have the choice to turn away, and to come back. Turning away from God is called sin. Coming back is called repenting (it means to change our minds, to turn around and go back). I'm pretty sure you have changed your mind about something at least once Lindsay.

Please do not be confused by what people often call 'sin' (drinking, smoking, sex, drugs, etc. ). The real sin of these things is that we are telling God that the way He made us, and what He has given us " ... isn't good enough -- God -- you're just not good enough -- you gave me lousy parents, God").

And then we set off on our OWN way in the opposite direction -- away from God -- to do "... better ...". Do you really think that we can do better than God?

We never can do better than Him, but He HAS to let us go, to let us try, because He HAS to give us the choice -- to CHOOSE HIM -- to choose to love Him ---- or not. There can not be any love any other way -- even when He (and we) see that by going that way you are going to hurt yourself. And you know Lindsay, the same is true of people who love you -- we have to let you go, but we hurt when we see you hurt, because we love you. He feels the same way, Lindsay -- He hurts when you hurt, but He HAS to let you go -- and so do we -- at least as much as we can stand. Even at that, He will protect you while you are away -- at least He will try, as much as He knows is best.

Because He is God, it is hard for us to know Who He is or how to know what to believe about Him, so He came into our world as Jesus, to show us what He is like when He is one of us. By knowing Jesus we begin to know God. This doesn't happen just one time, or all at once, it goes on -- one day at a time -- and it never ends until we go to be with Him.

BUT there has to be a starting point -- a first step, Lindsay -- to BELIEVE that Jesus IS GOD -- The Son, and that He came here to PAY FOR YOUR SINS AND MINE (all the times we turn away) so that we wouldn't have to pay for them ourselves.

Pay for? -- you ask, how much? -- what is the price? More than you -- or any of us -- can afford, I'm afraid.

The price of our sin is that God can not have a close relationship with us -- EVER. Sure -- we can have just about anything ELSE we want, whatever we can afford to buy, or do, fame, "popularity" ... but we will NOT know the Joy and Comfort of how much God loves us while we are choosing to walk away from Him (sin).

He loves us because He MADE us, and He forgives us because He KNOWS that He did not make us perfect.

** HE IS PERFECT -- so we don't have to be! **

Lindsay, you do NOT have to be "perfect" for God to Love you (if we did, God wouldn't love ANY of us, would He?).

But Lindsay, we ALL have to make that FIRST choice -- to trust that Jesus IS God, the God that He SAYS He is -- in the Bible -- and TRUST that He loves us, and that He has paid for our sins so that He can FORGIVE us -- no matter what.

This is not to say He loves everything we DO. In fact -- He HATES it when we do things that hurt ourselves! (or hurt others). But He always LOVES ** US **.

Jesus made that so clear just before He died when He said, "Father forgive THEM, because they do not know what they're DO-ing. There is a HUGE difference between who we ARE (He loves), and the things we DO (He hates -- when they are not the things He wants us to do). But -- bottom line -- WE ARE ALWAYS LOVED by Him, no matter what we DO.

So we all have to make that choice, Lindsay -- to trust HIM -- JESUS -- as The One Who has come and paid the price with His Own Life to save us from our sins. Or not.

It's just that simple, Lindsay. You can keep on walking away -- and missing all that He has planned for you.

OR, you can TURN AROUND -- and come BACK to Him, Lindsay -- back into the Loving arms of Him Who Loves you -- more than anyone ever can!

When you DO turn around, and go back to Him, something very wonderful happens, Lindsay. You get a NEW life -- to start over. A NEW LINDSAY -- HIS Lindsay. And you also get -- a whole new family! LOTS of brothers and sisters who love YOU -- who ALREADY love you. And yes -- you can keep the family you already have; they need as much of the Love you will have found as you can give them!

... and I get a NEW widdle SISTER! :-)

But Lindsay -- you need to know this -- you were NEVER INTENDED TO LIVE ALONE without knowing Him and His Love for you.

yes, she does need god in her life. she must make that choice - heck, we ALL need to make that choice.

but she needs to atone for her 'sins' with jail time. remember that jesus said render unto cesar what is cesar's... meaning we have to follow man's laws too, not just his.

Yes -- the followers of Jesus are not above the law. God has given for man to have systems of laws to help preserve the sanctity of life He has given each of us.

However, it is not for Lindsay to "... atone for her 'sins' with jail time ... ".

I would like for you to consider that any "jail" time or other legal punitive measure that may come from Lindsay's actions have to do with her infractions against the LEGAL system -- NOT her "sins".

ALL of Lindsay's sins -- and mine, and yours -- have been FULLY ATONED for in the sinless life, death and resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth, The Son of God, and God The Son -- Who loves us more than anybody ever can!
