Sunda, Lindsay Lohan's "I'm-sober-and-ready-to-work movie", Labor Pains, premiered on ABC Family (instead of in theaters, as originally planned), because LiLo is more of a draw at her DJ girlfriend's front porch these days than at the box office.



In short: it sucked. A lot. While the failure of the film can't be completely blamed on Lindsay (the script was lacking, as were the jokes), it wasn't her finest hour. Mostly, she just looked really tired.

Ridiculous, badly written, badly acted, random cast. All in all, I didn't hate it.

As someone who absolutely LOVES these "ABC Family" movies (I live for Holiday in Handcuffs) I was definitely disappointed in LABOR PAINS.

I was hoping that it would be cheesy fun, but it just wasn't. And as someone who used to have a major girl-crush on Lindsay, it makes me sad to see her super-thin, orange, and blond like this. Boo.

Ugh. Ugh. Ugh. Rated Y, as in why did this get made at all? So many actors I love (not just Jenaene, but Chris Parnell and Cheryl Hines) who just needed a paycheck and whose talents were utterly wasted.

And LiLo. Christ, she looks bad. Anyone remember Freaky Friday and Mean Girls? She was so beautiful and healthy. I'm guessing one person called her fat and that set it off (& I'm sure the drugs didn't help either).

I'm not going to pretend to be the Lindsay Lohan expert (who would really want to be?) but it doesn't surprise me that she's grown up to be someone who:

a) isn't a very good actress and
b) routinely puts everything else in her life before it.
Why should she? It was most likely not her decision to enter into acting in the first place and now she has enough money/clout to do anything and be incredibly wealthy. She's been doing the same thing since she was three and has made more money than I will ever make in my entire lifetime. I'm not saying money is the motivation of all things, but damn, it sure makes things easier.
